Besiktas, Matt Thomas Part Ways

Besiktas has officially announced the departure of Matt Thomas.

The sharpshooting guard joined the Turkish club midway through last season after a strong start in Spain with Granada, where he averaged 14.6 points per game while shooting 46% from three-point range.

With Besiktas, Thomas averaged 7.1 points in 14 minutes per game in the Turkish Basketball Super League, shooting an impressive 48% from beyond the arc. In the EuroCup, he recorded 4.8 points in 12 minutes per game, with a three-point percentage of 32%.

The former NBA player now becomes a free agent after a short stint in Turkey.

Alessandro Pajola has reportedly reached a two-year agreement with Partizan Belgrade. According to Telesport, the Italian guard is set to leave Virtus Bologna after ten years and begin the first experience of his career outside Italy.

The Spanish club revealed that on March 6, they reached an agreement with the player to extend his contract through the end of the 2027-28 season.

However, DeJulius later informed the club of his desire not to honor the agreement he had signed. According to Murcia, such a request is not in line with the terms of the contract between the two parties.

Partizan continue to pursue high-profile reinforcements, with Tornike Shengelia reportedly at the top of the club’s wishlist. Although rumors linking the experienced Georgian forward to Belgrade have intensified, completing the deal is expected to be far from straightforward.

According to MozzartSport, Shengelia remains under contract with Barcelona until 2028, with a €900,000 buyout clause included in his deal.
