Kevin Love set to sign for Miami

Kevin Love plans to sign with the Miami Heat after clearing waivers, his agent, Jeff Schwartz, told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Former Cavs’ expectation is that he can play a sizable role in the Heat’s frontcourt rotation as they push into the Eastern Conference playoffs. Love also talked with the Philadelphia 76ers. In addition to the planned acquisition of Love, the Heat are also planning to sign free agent veteran center Cody Zeller on Monday, sources told Wojnarowski.

Miami Heat reportedly front-runner to sign Kevin Love

The Miami Heat have emerged as the favorites to sign Kevin Love, reports Shams Charania.

The former UCLA big man has yet to agree on a buyout with the Cleveland Cavs.

Before falling out of Coach Bickerstaff’s rotation, Love was scoring 8.5 points with 6.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.

 

Nate Darling signs Two-Way deal with Clippers

The LA Clippers have signed Ontario Clippers guard Nate Darling to a two-way contract. Darling, 24, has appeared in 20 games with 10 starts for the Ontario Clippers this season, averaging 21.4 points and 3.7 rebounds while shooting 46.4% from the field.

The Delaware product will replace Moses Brown, who was released after reaching the game limit for a Two-Way player.

The Los Angeles Clippers have opened conversations with Russell Westbrook about potentially signing with the team should he get bought out by the Utah Jazz, sources told Law Murray and Shams Charania of The Athletic. Other interested teams include the Heat, Bulls, and Wizards.

The Boston Celtics have announced the promotion of Joe Mazzulla, who becomes the 19th head coach in franchise history.

Mazzulla took over the team’s reins as interim coach at the beginning of the season after Ime Udoka’s suspension.

With him at the helm, the Celtics have won 42 of 59 games played, the league’s best record ahead of the Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets.

Reggie Jackson will sign with the Denver Nuggets once he completes buyout with the Charlotte Hornets.

Per ESPN, After completing a contract buyout with the Charlotte Hornets, veteran guard Reggie Jackson intends to sign a free agent deal with the Denver Nuggets, sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski on Saturday.

The LA Clippers traded Jackson to the Hornets for Mason Plumlee ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline.

Suns to sign Terrence Ross

The Phoenix Suns are signing Terrence Ross once he will complete buyout from the Orlando Magic.

Per ESPN, Veteran guard Terrence Ross plans to sign with Phoenix upon finalizing a contract buyout.

The Dallas Mavericks had emerged as a frontrunner earlier Saturday, but the Suns made the case to Ross on the opportunity to join Devin Booker and Kevin Durant to bolster the Suns’ depleted wing depth on what figures to be a deep playoff run.

Thunder Signs Eugene Omoruyi To Multi-Year Contract

The Oklahoma City Thunder has signed forward Eugene Omoruyi to a multi-year contract, it was announced today by Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not released.

During the 2022-23 season, Omoruyi has appeared in 21 games with the Thunder and averaged 5.0 points and 2.3 rebounds in 12.2 minutes of action. In six games this season with the Oklahoma City Blue, Omoruyi has posted averages of 18.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.0 steal in 28.3 minutes per game.

Omoruyi was originally signed to a Two-Way Contract by the Thunder on July 2, 2022.

Dario Saric traded to Thunder

According to Shams Charania, the Phoenix Suns have traded Dario Saric and a second round pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Darius Bazley.

The Croatian forward is on an expiring contract and it is not yet clear whether he will stay with the Thunder or become a free agent via buyout.

Saric was averaging 5.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.

 

Pacers to release Goga Bitadze

According to Shams Charania, the Indiana Pacers plan to release Goga Bitadze.

The Georgian big man this season has played in just 21 games.

Last year Bitadze produced 7 points (53% FG) and 3.5 rebounds in 14 minutes.

The center will have to decide whether to continue chasing the NBA dream or return to Europe, where he has already proven his worth.

 

Warriors in talks with Pistons for Saddiq Bey

According to Jake Fischer the Golden State Warriors are negotiating with the Detroit Pistons on a trade that would bring Saddiq Bey to the defending champions in exchange for James Wiseman.

The big man selected at No. 2 in the 2020 NBA Draft this season has failed to make his way into Kerr’s rotation.

Given the Warriors’ payroll, the roughly 21 million total on Wiseman’s contract through 2024 is an unaffordable luxury, even for a franchise historically willing to spend.

Bey is scoring 14.7 points with 4.8 rebounds per game.

Bucks to acquire Jae Crowder from Nets

The Milwaukee Bucks are taking Jae Crowder from the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for five future second-round picks.

The experienced forward last night was traded to the Nets in the deal that brought Kevin Durant to Arizona.
