SIG Strasbourg inks Boris Dallo

SIG Strasbourg announced the return of French guard Boris Dallo with a deal until the end of the season.

Dallo, who has already played with the French team in the 2019/20 season, yesterday left ASVEL.

The versatile guard produced over 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists per game in the 2023 BetClic Elite with Cholet Basket.

Nick Johnson joins Cholet Basket

Nick Johnson is a new player of Cholet Basket, as announced by the French team.

The former Arizona guard started the season in Israel with Hapoel Holon.

Johnson will replace Randall II, who left the team yesterday.

 

Real Madrid interested in Valencia’s Jaime Pradilla?

Real Madrid may have one of their next signings in their sights: it is Jaime Pradilla, a player who can play in the role of a power forward and center from Valencia’s class of 2001. The Spanish player still has one year left on his contract with the Valencia club, but both sides have the option to get out of it. According to Maxi Jarque of ValenciaRadio 99.9, the Madrid club is interested in the player who is currently happy at Valencia.

This season he is averaging 4.6 points per game in Liga ACB, while in the EuroLeague he is averaging 2.9 points per game.

CSKA Moscow finalise deal with Olivier Hanlan

A new important update in the negotiations between Cska and Varese Basketball for Olivier Hanlan. Despite the rumours this morning, the red-and-white club have said yes to the Muscovite. This was reported by Sportando.

Olivier Hanlan is now on his way to Cska and Tom Bialaszewski loses his second attacking option: Hanlan averaged 18.7 points last season, second only to Nico Mannion, who played 12 games less.

 

Barcellona reportedly close to a new deal with Jan Vesely

Barcelona are close to agreeing a contract extension with Jan Vesely, according to RAC1.

The 33-year-old, 2.10m Czech pivot, who joined Barca from Fenerbahce in the summer of 2022, had signed a three-year deal until June 2025, with an option for either party to leave in the summer of 2024.

The new negotiations are expected to remove that option. Vesely is considered a key player for coach Roger Grimau and has been in excellent form this season, averaging 12.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists and a 16.6 rating in the EuroLeague.

Pallacanestro Varese reportedly reject Cska’s offer for Olivier Hanlan

Pallacanestro Varese has rejected a significant financial offer from CSKA Moscow for Olivier Hanlan. This was reported by La Prealpina.

The Russian proposal, which included a four-month contract – the equivalent of Hanlan’s entire season at Varese – and a substantial buyout of around $100,000, was rejected by the Italian club with a polite ‘no thanks’.

This decision marks a departure from the past and underlines a change in the club’s attractiveness after the “great flight” of foreigners in 2021.

Unlike previous contracts with buy-out clauses, Hanlan’s is binding until 30 June, giving Varese control over his eventual transfer.

Olivier Hanlan reportedly among players on CSKA Moscow’s notebook

According to  Orazio Cauchi, Olivier Hanlan is one of the profiles evaluated by CSKA Moscow to strengthen the backcourt.

The Russian team is back on the market to add a guard after Ware’s injury and the failure of the Barton deal.

Hanlan is the top scorer in the Italian league with 18.7 points per game, plus 4.2 assists and 4 rebounds in 29 minutes.

In FIBA Europe Cup, the 31-year-old Canadian under contract with Openjobmetis Varese is producing averages of more than 16 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists.

The shooting guard was scoring over 16 points and 3 assists per game between BetClic Elite and BCL.

After an excellent season with the Adelaide 36ers in the NBL, Trey Kell returns to Europe to defend the colors of Bahcesehir Koleji.

Jacob Wiley is a new Coviran Granada player, the Spanish team announced.

The power forward last weekend concluded his participation in the NBL with the Adelaide 36ers (10.5 PPG, 7.3 RPG, 2.1 APG).

Wiley signed a deal  for the remainder of the season. 

Janis Timma to join Obradoiro

According to Chema De Lucas, Obradoiro has reached an agreement to bring Janis Timma back to Spain.

The Latvian forward thus leaves Darussafaka, where he was producing 10 points, 4.2 rebounds and a steal between BSL and BCL.

The Spanish team is second-to-last in the ACB along with Rio Breogan and Granada with 6 wins.

Timma played in Spain with Baskonia in the 2017/18 season.

 

SLUC Nancy signs Chris Clemons

Chris Clemons has signed a deal until the end of the season with SLUC Nancy.

The point guard comes from the Windy City Bulls (G League) where he was scoring 15.9 points with 4.1 assists per game.

Clemons spent the 2022-23 season in CBA with Xinjiang Guanghui (17.9 PPG, 3.1 APG).

 

John Egbunu signs with Ningbo Rockets

John Egbunu has reached an agreement with the Ningbo Rockets, as announced by his agency.

The big man started the season in France with ASVEL before parting ways a month ago.

 

VL Pesaro reportedly in talks with Justin Wright-Foreman

VL Pesaro is in talks with Justin Wright-Foreman. The name, which had already emerged yesterday before Mockevicius’ farewell, is confirmed today in the Carlino newspaper.

According to the newspaper, the club has received the green light from coach Meo Sacchetti.

The 1997 born, 183-centimetres playmaker has played 12 games this season in the G League at an average of 18.3 points.

Openjobmetis Varese targets Nuni Omot

Openjobmetis Varese is actively looking for a reinforcement for the final rush of the season and among the main candidates is the South Sudanese forward Nuni Omot.

Pallacanestro Varese reportedly in talks with Michael Gilmore

Italian newpaper LA Prealpina reports that Openjobmetis Varese is on the market to find a replacement for forward James Young. Two names emerge as main candidates: Michael Gilmore and Nuni Omot.

Gilmore, a 29-year-old wing-pivot with Belgian passport, currently with Paok, is the first choice of the Varese.

In the BCL he produced an average of 7.1 points with 5.9 rebounds in nine games.

Omot, a 28-year-old South Sudanese forward, is considered as an alternative, despite a less fortunate recent experience in France with Roanne. He averaged 9.3 points in four games.

The negotiation for Gilmore seems to be the most advanced, with the player still having to resolve his contract with Paok before.

Detroit Pistons sign Tosan Evbuomwan

The Detroit Pistons sign Tosan Evbuomwan to a 10-day contract.

Evbuomwan – a wing from Princeton – recently completed a 10-day stint with Memphis.

He averaged 15 points this season with the Motor City Cruise in the G League.
