Baskonia have cancelled Wednesday’s closed-door friendly against Gipuzkoa Basket. According to Marca, the club does not have enough available players to contest the game.
Kobi Simmons and Damion Baugh are away with their respective national teams, while Kenneth Faried has yet to join the squad. Khalifa Diop, meanwhile, has travelled to the United States with Baskonia’s permission.
The center will undergo medical tests with the Cleveland Cavaliers, who selected him with the 39th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. No deal is official yet, but his departure would require compensation and leave Baskonia searching for two more big men.
