Igor Crespo, Nikola Mirotic’s agent, spoke this morning to Spanish radio station RAC1. Here are some of his statements to journalist Jordi Basté.
“Everything has been clear for months. When the club proposed the idea of resolving the contract, I replied: okay, let’s do it. I told the player to freely choose his future, but it is right to first close one phase and then look for a solution for the next one”.
The journalist lists the names of the teams interested in Nikola Mirotic according to the media. From Greek to Serbian teams, passing through Monaco and Olimpia Milano. Is there a risk that they cannot wait too long? “I have no idea if they will wait or not for our agreement with Barcelona. I don’t even know if this agreement will be there. Then it is normal that there is interest, it would be strange if it were the opposite. I think the market considers him the best player in Europe. But with Barcelona, I have been clear: I will not negotiate anything until the situation with them is resolved. Moreover, I can’t even legally do so”.
And Jorge Crespo says he is willing to negotiate with Barcelona: “We are always willing to negotiate everything, to sit at a table and talk about everything. We have always been available and continue to be so. We are always open, we never close a channel of communication”.

Reyer Venezia has finalized a multi-year agreement with American power forward Amir Simms. As reported to Sportando, the 1999-born player will be part of coach Neven Spahija’s roster. Veolia Towers Hamburg signed big man Aleksander Dziewa to a one-year contract, adding a seasoned power to its front line, the club said on Wednesday. Dziewa, a 25-year-old athlete with 2.07 meters, comes from Slask Wroclaw, where he played for the previous seven seasons. Dziewa recorded 11.6 points during the previous season, his second in the BKT EuroCup, on 60.8% two-point and 41.2% three-point shooting. He also had 2.1 assists and 5.0 rebounds.

Oliver Vidin, the head coach of Slask Wroclaw, which finished second in the Polish League, has been brought back for a third time to lead the squad in the BKT EuroCup. Between 2019 and 2021, Vidin, 45, sat on Slask’s bench previously. This time, he agreed to a fresh, two-year contract.
Since his first of five seasons with Dolny Kubin in Slovakia in 2008, Vidin, a Serbian, has served as a head coach at the club level. Real Madrid has decided not to exercise their right of first refusal for Willy Hernangómez, thus clearing the path for Barcelona to sign the recent EuroBasket MVP. According to AS, sources close to the player confirmed that Barcelona’s offer, exceeding four million euros per year, is beyond the budget of Real Madrid.
Despite his past in the Real’s youth team, Hernangómez appears inclined to sign for Barcelona, although he also has the option to continue his career in the NBA. After his contract with the New Orleans Pelicans expired last month, Hernangómez is now a free agent in the professional North American market.
