When deciding where to sign this summer, Kyrie Irving intends to cast a broad net. Although the Sixers still see Maxey as a key component of their long-term ambitions, they would like to put off signing a contract in order to maintain their flexibility. The Sixers may keep a possibility of cap space in 2024 with a $13 million cap hold. In 2024, Maxey will be a restricted free agent.
Maxey averaged 20.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in 33.6 minutes per game in the 22-23 season. Maxey will likely play a major part for the Sixers in 23–24 given that James Harden will be traded by the franchise.
