Kyrie Irving expected to meet with Mavs, Suns, Lakers, Clippers, Rockets and Heat

Irving is unrestricted free agent

When deciding where to sign this summer, Kyrie Irving intends to cast a broad net. According to league sources, Irving also expects to visit with the Lakers, Clippers, Rockets, and Heat in addition to the Dallas Mavericks, the team that acquired him in a trade earlier this year, and the Phoenix Suns. The sessions will take place in Los Angeles, as well as occasionally remotely. Since Irving is an unrestricted free agent, he may sign with any team.

Prior to the trade deadline in February, the Mavericks acquired Irving in exchange for Dorian Finney-Smith, Spencer Dinwiddie, an unprotected first-round selection in 2029, as well as second-round picks in 2027 and 2029. They planned to re-sign Irving to a long-term contract this summer.
