Donte DiVincenzo to join Knicks?

The Golden State Warriors’ Donte DiVincenzo has emerged as a frontrunner to join the New York Knicks. After one season with the Warriors, DiVincenzo declined to exercise a player option. Due to the Warriors only possessing his Non-Bird rights, DiVincenzo’s compensation is constrained.

After Josh Hart chose to accept his $12.9 million contract for the following season, the Knicks had enough space to deploy the entire Non-Taxpayer MLE in free agency. According to rumors, Hart took this action to allow New York to expand its squad with talented players for the following season. Hart is anticipated to approach the Knicks about a contract extension.

Along with Jalen Brunson, DiVincenzo and Hart were teammates at Villanova.

The news was reported by San Francisco Chronicle.

James Harden reportedly wants to play for Clippers

James Harden wants to play for the Los Angeles Clippers, and the Philadelphia 76ers are working to make that happen, according to Sam Amick of The Athletic.

According to sources close to Harden, he is “extremely upset” with how the Sixers handled his potential free agency and has made his displeasure known to the team.

Paul George and Kawhi Leonard agree that the Clippers should trade for Harden.

“There is strong optimism on Harden’s side” that he will be traded to the Clippers.

When Harden chose not to exercise his $47.4 million player option with the Sixers in favor of signing a one-plus-one contract for less money, he suffered a hefty pay reduction. The general consensus was that Harden would later return to free agency this offseason and re-sign for a protracted contract.

But before making any offers, the Sixers were prepared to pressure Harden to check the market. A brief agreement was being prepared by the Sixers.

Andre Drummond to sign with Mavs when free agency opens?

According to several rival clubs, Andre Drummond will most likely sign with the Dallas Mavericks when free agency opens.

Drummond is anticipated to refuse the Chicago Bulls’ $3.36 million player option.

The Mavericks have also added Dereck Lively II through the draft and Richaun Holmes through trade to their center roster this offseason.

Christian Wood and JaVale McGee have abandoned their plans. Stein adds that completing a deal, most likely including McGee, is necessary in order to get Drummond.

Danilo Gallinari reportedly not discussing a buyout with Wizards

According to Michael Scotto of Hoopshype Danilo Gallinari ‘has not had any buyout discussions’ with the Washington Wizards.

The Italian national team forward is reportedly ready to start the season with Washington, and he is determined to prove he can still be an important NBA player.

The Wizards’ plans for Gallinari are unclear. The team currently has 16 guaranteed contracts, one more than the maximum allowed.

Since the arrival of Michael Winger as the new team president, the Wizards have started a rebuilding, with the trades of Porzingis, Beal and Paul.

Gallinari has one year left on his contract worth about $6.8 million

According to sources who spoke with ESPN, the Cleveland Cavaliers have completely guaranteed Cedi Osman’s $6.7 million deal for the 2023–2024 season. In his six seasons with the Cavaliers, Osman has scored roughly 10 points per game on average.

Dejan Vasiljevic opts out of contract with Sydney Kings to pursue career in Europe or NBA

Dejan Vasiljevic has decided to opt out of deal with Sydney Kings to pursue a career in the NBA or in Europe.

Per ESPN Australia, Vasiljevic had a June 30 deadline to exercise his out with the Kings ahead of the 2023-24 NBL season, sources said, and officially informed the team on Wednesday of his decision to do so.

Vasiljevic had signed a three-year deal with the Kings in the 2022 offseason, with a mutual option on the third year.

If a deal in the NBA or Europe doesn’t eventuate, the Kings will have right of first refusal if Vasiljevic has a desire to return to the NBL for the 2023-24 season, sources said.

The Los Angeles Lakers have shown “significant interest” in acquiring Bruce Brown Jr., according to Mike Singer of the Denver Post.

For the 23–24 season, the Denver Nuggets may only pay Brown up to $7.8 million. Brown may use his Early Bird rights to opt out and re-sign with the Nuggets in 2024.

After joining Denver from the Brooklyn Nets in the previous offseason, Brown played a significant role in the team’s championship run.

Charlotte Hornets extend Qualifying Offer to Miles Bridges, PJ Washington and Theo Maledon

The Charlotte Hornets have extended Qualifying Offers to forwards Miles Bridges and PJ Washington and French point guard Theo Maledon.

The 3 players will enter free agency as Restricted Free Agents, with the team having the option to match any offer.

Bridges was out all of last season due to serious off-court issues.

Washington is coming off a year with 15.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.1 blocks per game, while Maledon scored 6.7 points and dished 3.5 assists.

Nikola Vucevic reportedly nearing three-year, $60M contract extension with Bulls

The Chicago Bulls and Nikola Vucevic are finalizing the last details of a three-year, $60 million contract extension, his agents revealed to Adrian Wojnarowski.

The center is coming off a season with over 17 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists per game.

NBA reporter Marc Stein lists forward Yuta Watanabe and point guard Mike James among the Phoenix Suns’ potential Free Agency targets.

The Suns have 4 Max Players and will need to sign minimum salary players to complete the roster.

James is close with Kevin Durant, who was his teammate with the Brooklyn Nets in 2021.

The talented point guard ended the season with AS Monaco scoring 15.9 points and 4.4 assists in Euroleague, and 13 points with 5.8 assists in BetClic Elite.

 

Damian Lillard did not request trade, wants to see how Blazers fare in free agency

On Monday, Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers met to discuss their future, and he left the meeting with a determination to wait and see what the team does during the free agency period.

On Get Up on Tuesday morning, Brian Windhorst said, “This was the meeting a lot of the league was watching to see if Damian Lillard requested a trade.” And he most definitely did not. I believe the meeting’s general vibe was that he doesn’t want to put pressure on the Blazers. He is curious to see how they fare in the open market. He’ll give them the opportunity to do it. This tactical choice is intriguing.

Pelicans place Jonas Valanciunas on the trade block

Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports has learned from sources that the New Orleans Pelicans have placed Jonas Valanciunas on the trade block.

The Pelicans are looking for a bigger, more agile big who can also guard the rim.

After agreeing to a two-year, $33.1 million contract extension in October 2021, Valanciunas’ current deal is coming to an end. In late May, Valanciunas publicly stated his desire to extend his contract with the Pelicans.

The CAA’s Mitch Nathan and Drew Morrison are Valanciunas’s representatives.

Regarding Jarrett Allen, the Pelicans have contacted the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Having freed up cap space on draft night, the Sacramento Kings could potentially make a play for Draymond Green in free agency.

The Kings are in need of a significant upgrade on defense and have a gap at the power forward position, but Green could potentially be an awkward fit on offense alongside Domantas Sabonis. Green and Sabonis are inconsistent perimeter shooters.

At the same time, the Golden State Warriors are confident that a multi-year deal is possible.

According to Marc Stein, a three-year contract in San Francisco seems to be the most probable solution.

Phoenix Suns leaning towards eetaining Deandre Ayton

The Phoenix Suns are increasingly leaning towards retaining Deandre Ayton. A trade had been a possibility for a long time, but now the front office is planning on starting the big man alongside Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal.

Last season, Ayton maintained an average of 18 points and 10 rebounds per game for Phoenix. Over the first five years of his career, the center has averaged 16.7 points and 10.4 rebounds per game.

According to Jake Fischer, the San Antonio Spurs are in the market for another Lottery Pick in tonight’s Draft so they can reform the French duo of Victor Wembanyama and Bilal Coulibaly in Texas.

The big man since his arrival in the States has spoken several times about the potential of his teammate with the Metropolitans 92, and apparently the Front Office will try to satisfy him.

Coulibaly is currently projected at No. 12 by ESPN, a pick owned by the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Pelicans’ Griffin, Benson met with Zion Williamson to improve relationship

Celtics trade Marcus Smart to Wizards, get Kristaps Porzingis in three-team trade

According to sources speaking to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the three teams—the Boston Celtics, Washington Wizards, and Memphis Grizzlies—agreed to a three-team deal late Wednesday night that sent center Kristaps Porzingis to the Celtics, guard Marcus Smart to the Grizzlies, and guard Tyus Jones to the Wizards.

According to sources, the Celtics are giving Washington the 35th choice in Thursday’s lottery, while Memphis is sending Boston its first-round pick in Thursday’s draft, the 25th overall pick, as well as the Golden State Warriors’ top-four protected first-round pick in 2024. According to reports, the Celtics are also sending center Mike Muscala and forward Danilo Gallinari to Washington as part of the transaction.

Bucks’ Khris Middleton declines $40M player option to become free agent

In order to become a free agency, Khris Middleton has refused the Milwaukee Bucks’ $40 million option.

This season, Middleton fought with ailments as his output decreased. Some believed Middleton’s participation in Milwaukee’s coaching search to be an indication that he would stick with the team even if he did test the free agent market.

Middleton has completed a five-year, $178 million deal with the Bucks that he inked in the 2019 summer.
