Elisa Aguilar has been elected as the president of the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB) with near-unanimous votes from the 79 members of the assembly. The election took place during an Extraordinary General Assembly at the NH Eurobuilding Hotel in Madrid. Aguilar is the first woman to hold this position and will serve until 2024.
The election follows the resignation of Jorge Garbajosa, who has been elected as the president of FIBA Europe. Alejandro Blanco, the president of the Spanish Olympic Committee, expressed his full support for Aguilar, emphasizing the significance of the moment for Spanish basketball.
