The Warriors will be without Stephen Curry on Thursday night versus the Celtics, and there’s no clear timetable for his return. Curry told the training staff his right knee didn’t feel ready for a live scrimmage when he returned to the facility Wednesday.
“Just wasn’t where he needed to be,” Steve Kerr said, adding the team will have an update after Curry’s work with the staff. Kerr also noted another MRI could be on the table after consultation with Rick Celebrini, who is in Milan watching his son Macklin play for Team Canada in Olympic hockey.
On the brighter side, Kristaps Porzingis is expected to make his Warriors debut against Boston, with an early plan for short stints and limited minutes. Acquired from Atlanta at the deadline in the deal that sent Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield to the Hawks, Porzingis said it will be “weird” to face his former team and praised the fit alongside Draymond Green.
