German side Telekom Baskets Bonn has terminated, without notice, the contract of guard Joshiko Saibou after the player took part in a demonstration against Coronavirus measures in Germany last weekend.
Bonn’s GM Wiedlich has commented the decision with the following words: “BBL clubs are currently working meticulously on hygiene concepts for the spectators next season and on special safety guidelines. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for a permanent risk of infection, as the player Saibou represents”.
