After Bam Adebayo’s 83-point explosion, Erik Spoelstra addressed criticism about Miami extending the final minutes to create more scoring chances

Adebayo’s 83 in the Heat’s 150-129 win over the Washington Wizards is now the No. 2 single-game total in NBA history: 17 shy of Wilt Chamberlain’s 100 and two ahead of Kobe Bryant’s 81.
Miami kept feeding him late, even as Washington sent multiple defenders, and intentionally fouled to get extra possessions: “When there’s a moment like that… you have to go for it,” Spoelstra said.

Adebayo agreed: “I’ve got 70 with nine minutes left… you think I’m not going for it? … If you are mad, I don’t care.”
He followed it with 21 points in a 112-105 win over the Milwaukee Bucks, Miami’s seventh straight, saying the quick turnaround was “an emotional roller coaster.”
