The Sydney Kings have added another promising guard to their roster with Angus Glover signing a three-year deal with the Club.

The Wollongong-born 21 year-old becomes the fourth local talent to commit to the purple and gold this season after spending the past four seasons with the Hawks.

“I’m very excited to be part of the Kings organisation for the next three years” Glover shared.

“Being able to spend time with Will while I was with the Boomers at the end of last season was a big factor in my decision to join the Club. The confidence he gives to players is massive, and even five or six days with him was a big jump forward for my development”.

Last season as a rookie with the Hawks, Glover hit the court in 27 games with a season-high 18 points coming against the Bullets in January.

Glover made his Australian Boomers debut earlier this year at the Asia Cup qualifiers in Brisbane, led by Kings Head Coach Will Weaver.

He was one of the most impressive debutants for the Boomers averaging 12 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists over the two games.

In 2017 Glover was the only Australian junior selected to represent his country on the World Select Team at the Nike Hoop Summit in Portland where he impressed in training before an ACL tear ruled him out of the game.

Head Coach Will Weaver is thrilled to have Angus join the Kings.

“Angus has earned the respect of peers, coaches, and NBA scouts with his ability and attitude,” Weaver shared.

“His professionalism has allowed him not only to overcome, but to benefit from injuries that have ended other players’ careers, and I could not be more excited to work [with] him over the next several years to help him achieve his goals”.

“It’s tremendous to add another local standout for Sydney fans to get behind. We’re looking forward to welcoming Angus and his family into our Club” Weaver said.

Glover becomes the eighth contracted player for the Kings joining Brad Newley, Shaun Bruce, Xavier Cooks, Didi Louzada, Craig Moller, Jordan Hunter and Dejan Vasiljevic for the upcoming season.
