Bull’s Karnisovas primary objective is trading Zach LaVine

Arturas Karnisovas’s primary objective is still trading Zach LaVine, sources told K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago.

According to reports, Karnisovas is stating that he wants to examine the Bulls roster following the LaVine deal in response to questions about other players.

Johnson continues by saying that Andre Drummond would attract interest from throughout the NBA should the Bulls want to rebuild through trades.

The Memphis Grizzlies said on Monday that Luke Kennard, who has a bone bruise in his left knee, will be sidelined for at least two weeks.

After missing the first two games due to injury, Kennard sustained the injury on November 14 against the Lakers.

Xavier Tillman, who was also injured against the Lakers, is sidelined for a few weeks due to a left leg injury.

Marcus Smart’s left foot injury will keep him out of action for three to five weeks, the club said last Friday.

Lakers more concentrated on internal improvement than trade rumors

Marc Stein of Substack reports that the Los Angeles Lakers are concentrating on “internal improvement” in the midst of trade speculations involving Zach LaVine.

LaVine is allegedly interested in being moved to the Lakers, Heat, and Sixers, among other clubs.

As for the Lakers’ interest in LaVine, Stein says it’s unclear.

Additionally, the squad is hopeful that Jarred Vanderbilt and Gabe Vincent’s comeback will help them.

Kings expected to be forceful in trade negotiations this season

The Sacramento Kings didn’t stop at ending their playoff skid the previous year. Sacramento hopes to establish the postseason as a yearly event. According to Shams Charania of FanDuel, they are anticipated to be forceful in trade negotiations this season in order to make it happen.

Talks about any star player that enters the market are anticipated to involve the Kings. Players like Zach LaVine, OG Anunoby, and Pascal Siakam may be among them.

In order to be prepared to make a deal for a great player, general manager of the Kings Monte McNair has held onto the majority of his draft selections (the Kings owe the Atlanta Hawks a lottery-protected pick). Sacramento has a plenty of tradeable salaries to offer in an All-Star trade.

Los Angeles Clippers reportedly also followed the Kai Jones trail

According to Jake Fischer, the Los Angeles Clippers have also followed the Kai Jones trail.

The centre has not seen the court since Summer League. After a year with the Charlotte Hornets with an average of 12.3 minutes, Kai Jones was cut in October.

Absent from the training camp for personal reasons, Jones had posted on X on 9 October that he was to be traded.

Lakers aren’t interested in including Reaves in a potential LaVine trade

Los Angels Lakers aren’t interested in including Austin Reaves in a potential Zach LaVine trade as reported by Jovan Buha.

“The most likely framework of a LaVine deal would center around Russell, who waived his implied no-trade clause over the offseason. It’d also need to feature Hachimura or Vincent as additional matching salary, another player and either the team’s 2029 or 2030 first-round pick – potentially with protections..”

Bulls and DeMar DeRozan might agree to discuss trade?

The Chicago Bulls may be looking at trade targets other than Zach LaVine. Eventually, the Bulls and DeMar DeRozan might agree to discuss transactions as well.

Chicago and DeRozan are still at odds during extension negotiations. In the summer of 2021, DeRozan signed a three-year contract with the Bulls as part of a sign-and-trade agreement with the San Antonio Spurs. He is currently in the final year of that contract. DeRozan and Chicago are reportedly at odds over years and money for a potential deal.

It’s plausible that the Bulls are considering a DeRozan deal as they try to make changes to their roster and salary structure. It is said that DeRozan will “keep an eye on” Chicago’s actions during the LaVine trade negotiations.

Daniel Theis reportedly joining Clippers

Nuggets’ Michael Malone agrees to rich contract extension

Denver Nuggets’ head coach Michael Malone has agreed on a contract extension that will make him one of the NBA’s highest-paid coaches, sources told ESPN on Monday.

Malone – who has led Denver to a Western Conference-leading 8-2 record to start the 2023-24 season – spent eight seasons lifting the franchise out of the lottery, into the playoffs and, ultimately, to an NBA title. Denver’s 16-4 run in the 2023 playoffs was the league’s most dominant since the Golden State Warriors in 2017.

Nuggets’ Jamal Murray to miss rest of November with hamstring strain

Jamal Murray strained his right hamstring, which will probably keep him out of action for the rest of November.

In Saturday night’s Denver Nuggets victory over the Chicago Bulls, Murray sustained an injury. Murray experienced a comparable injury during the preseason.

This week, Malone stated, “This will be something that is longer than we would like.” “You have to have the big picture in mind and make sure we’re putting him in position to get healthy before he comes back.”

Murray may become eligible for the Supermax if he is selected to the All-NBA team, given he did not sign a contract extension with the Nuggets over the offseason. Throughout his career, Murray has not been selected to an All-Star or All-NBA squad.

PJ Tucker surprised by trade to Clippers

P.J. Tucker claimed that his inclusion in the James Harden deal to the Los Angeles Clippers took him by surprise. The move, according to Tucker, also caught center Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers off guard.

“I wasn’t expecting to get traded, so I didn’t know. It kind of came out of nowhere,” Tucker said. “And from what I know, he didn’t know either. But you never know with this stuff, man. It’s the NBA. You never know.”

Despite reports that he and Harden were a package deal, Tucker stated he had no desire to leave the Sixers.

“James’ situation had nothing to do with me,” Tucker said. “As much as I get thrown in it, I’m kind of a casualty in that sense.”

But Tucker is happy to have a chance to compete for a title with LA.

“I don’t want to play if I’m not playing for a team that has a chance to win it,” Tucker said. “Eighteen years, if I’m not chasing that then I can’t play. There’s no point. And this team definitely has a chance. You look at our personnel. I don’t know how many teams that have it on paper like we do.”

Nuggets’ Jamal Murray to miss some games with hamstring strain

Michael Malone reports that Jamal Murray has a right hamstring strain, which will keep him out for a while.

Murray sustained the hamstring strain on Saturday against the Bulls; he had been battling the injury since training camp.

As Malone put it, the strain is “not a one or two game injury.”

Murray was replaced in the starting lineup by Reggie Jackson.

Donovan Mitchell, Bojan Bogdanovic reportedly among 76ers’ potential targets

Michael Scotto and Keith Pompey recently spoke about the Philadelphia 76ers’ plans after the trade of James Harden to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Daryl Morey would like to invest the draft picks and some of the expiring contracts he received to strengthen the roster as soon as possible.

Among the 76ers’ potential trade targets are Zach LaVine and OG Anunoby (much liked by Nurse).

Other names Philadelphia will keep an eye on between now and the trade deadline include Cavaliers’ All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell and Pistons’ Croatian forward Bojan Bogdanovic.

These are different profiles, with different ‘prices’. In the event of Tyrese Maxey’s definitive explosion – the guard started the season with 30.3 points (53% 3P, 91% FT)  and 6.3 assists per game- , the front office would lean towards one between Anunoby and Bogdanovic, to not take away possessions and responsibility from the former Kentucky guard.
