Matt Mobley and Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt have parted ways, a source told Emiliano Carchia of Sportando. Mobley has played only one game with the German team before coronavirus pandemic.
This year the guard played 14 games for Sigortam.net ITU Bakiroy in BSL, with averages of 21.6 points and 3.9 assist.

Ben Carter signed with Hapoel Eilat, the Israeli team announced.
The forward out of Michigan State started the year for Hapoel Afula in the second Israeli divison, where he averaged over 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assist per game.

Nanterre to sign Alpha Kaba

French big man Alpha Kaba is expected to sign a deal with Nanterre, according to BeBasket.

This year Kaba averaged 8.7 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1 block for Boulazac Basket, in Jeep Elite.

He was picked from the Atlanta Hawks with the No.60 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.

Shavon Coleman signs with Hapoel Holon

Former LSU forward Shavon Coleman has signed with Hapoel Holon for the remainder of the Israeli Winner League season, which will resume in June.

Coleman most recently played for Kangoeroes in Belgium, averaging 16.5 points and 7.1 rebounds per game.

Paul Delaney, Al’lonzo Coleman sign with Maccabi Ashdod

Maccabi Ashdod is bringing in guard Paul Delaney and forward Al’lonzo Coleman for the resumption of the Israeli Winner League season.

Delaney, 33, averaged 19.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 7.1 assists per game for Elitzur Ashkelon.

Coleman, 31, played three games for Hapoel Ramat Gan, averaging 19 points, 14 rebounds and 2.3 assists.

Thomas Klepeisz joins Ratiopharm Ulm on loan

Ratiopharm Ulm acquired Austrian guard Thomas Klepeisz on loan from Braunschweig for the 10-team tournament that will complete the 2019-20 season.

Klepeisz averaged 12.7 points and 4.3 assists per game for Braunschweig this season, shooting 42.3 percent for three.

Russian border may not open fully until next year

As reported by RT, the Russian border may not open in its entirety until January 1, 2021.

International tourism could resume earlier, in July 2020, but only from countries with fewer instances of coronavirus. If approved, this decision could affect the playing of next basketball season.

Reale Mutua Torino will be the promoted from the Italian Serie A2 to the Serie A as the 18th team for the 2020-21 season.

The club is owned by Stefano Sardara who is also the president of Dinamo Sassari. He is now obliged to sell Torino as he can’t own more than one Serie A team.

Italian Serie A to have 18 teams for 2020-21 season

The Italian Serie A’s 2020-21 season will be composed of 18 teams, including the 17 clubs from the 2019-20 season plus one from the Serie A2 (second division), sources told Sportando.

There will be one relegation from the Serie A to the A2 at the end of the 2020-21 season.

The season is expected to start on August 30 with a “Supercup” tournament with all Serie A teams. The regular season expected to begin on September 27.

For the Supercup, the teams will be divided into six groups of three teams each. The best team of each group plus the two best 2nd-place teams will advance to the quarterfinals. The Final Four to end the competition. The tournament will run from August 20 through September 20.

Former Nevada forward Jordan Caroline has signed a contract with Hapoel Eilat for the remainder of the Israeli Winner League season, the team announced.

Caroline most recently played for the South Bay Lakers in the NBA G League, averaging 11.7 points and 8.1 rebounds in 15 games.

Darussafaka considering leaving EuroLeague Basketball competitions to join BCL

Darussafaka is seriously considering to leave EuroLeague Basketball competitions starting from 2021-2022

Turkish powerhouse Darussafaka is in talks with FIBA to join Basketball Champions League from next season, a source told Sportando and Trendbasket.

Dacka has played three seasons in EuroLeague, two with a wild card and one after winning the EuroCup title in 2018.

Darussafaka is mad at EuroLeague for how it was handled the decisive EuroCup Top 16 game against Virtus Bologna.

The Turkish team, after Virtus was not allowed to fly to Istanbul, tried to play the game in Berlin but EuroLeague refused to accept the proposal and organized the game in Belgrade without fans.

The game cost Darussafaka around €100k considering that they had to pay the Stark Arena around €80k plus the refund of tickets to the fans that had already bought the ticket for the game in Istanbul. Darussafaka asked to share the cost of arena but the request was denied.

Joe Furstinger agrees to deal with Hapoel Beer Sheva

Former New Mexico big man Joe Furstinger has agreed to a deal with Hapoel Beer Sheva of the Israeli Winner League, a source told Sportando.

The two sides reached an agreement for the rest of the current season – which will resume in June – with an option for 2020-21.

Furstinger played 22 games for GTK Gliwice in Poland this season, averaging 12.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game while shooting 57.4 percent from the field.

Fredette and Thomas likely to leave Panathinaikos, which will be coached by Vovoras

As reported by Sport 24, Georgios Vovoras will coach Panathinaikos next season.

Greek side, however, is in a midst of a revolution according to the same source, as Jimmer Fredette is engaged in complicated talks to terminate his contract and DeShaun Thomas is likely to leave Panathinaikos as well.

Both Thomas and Fredette had contracts until June 2021 with the ‘Greens’.

Ljubljana reportedly applies to host Euroleague Final Phase

According to Dnevnik, Slovenia’s capital Ljubljana has engaged in a ‘serious campaign’ to host the possible Euroleague final phase to complete the current season.

Belgrade is however considered as a front runner, with Athens, Cologne and Kaunas whom has applied as well. As of today, Slovenia has recorded 102 deaths among 1460 COVID-19 cases.

Interviewed by the Serbian website Espreso, Joffrey Lauvergne said that his goal is to win the EuroLeague title.
The French big man is playing with Fenerbahce this season.

“My dream is to win the EuroLeague. All the options (about the future) are in play and it is not impossibile a return to the NBA. Nothing is safe at the moment due to the coronavirus pandemic. We will see what will happen, but the most important thing is to continue playing, to be healthy, I hope that the season will continue, and if not, then I look forward for the next one.”

Zenit St. Petersburg did not make any offer to Nick Calathes

Despite reports, Zenit St. Petersburg has not made any offer to Nick Calathes, a league source told Sportando .

The Russian team doesn’t not know the budget for next season yet and they have not talked to any players regarding next year.

Greek media reported that Zenit offered a three-year contract worth more than €8 million to the point guard who is expected to leave Panathinaikos when the season ends.

Zenit St. Petersburg reportedly offers Nick Calathes more than €8 million in three years

Zenit St. Petersburg has offered Nick Calathes a three-year contract worth more than €8 million, according to Trifilara.

The proposal is €2.7 million per season, per three seasons.

The American-Greek point guard is expected to leave Panathinaikos when the season ends and may rejoin his former coach Xavi Pascual in the Russian team.
Zenit is trying to build a contender after a difficult first season in EuroLeague and wants to start from the Panathinaikos star.

 

The news has been denied.

Aleksej Nikolic says he won’t return to Treviso, wants to play a Cup next season

Aleksej Nikolic confirmed that he won’t return to Treviso Basket now that his loan expired.
The point guard, who has a contract with Partizan next season, may be back to the Serbian powerhouse or try to play for a team that will be in the European Cups.

“I think my experience with Treviso is over” Nikolic said. “I am already focused on next season. We’ll see if Partizan plays in EuroCup or EuroLeague. Playing a Cup is my desire for the future” Nikolic told La Tribuna di Treviso. “My experience with Treviso was great, very positive. Logan taught me a lot of things. I had a great relation with him”.
