Monaco players are ironic about the rumour that Bahcesehir are after Elie Okobo. Taking the floor are Jaron Blossomgame and Mike James.

The former jokes with a gif dotted with question marks, the latter goes on the attack: ‘You should be ashamed that you actually thought this was a possibility. People are in such a hurry to tweet something and don’t even bother to get the facts right”.

The comments come under the tweet of Italian Luca D’Alessandro, who quotes Semith Tuna of Eurohoops. And the news does not mention a negotiation close to closure, but only an attempt by the Turkish club.

Bahcesehir Koleji reportedly targets Elie Okobo

Bahcesehir Koleji is trying the Elie Okobo card given the suspension of the French guard in Monaco.

The Turkish team, which recently handed over to former Red Star Dejan Radonjic on the bench, is aiming for a future place in the EuroLeague by merging with Besiktas.

French and Euroleague side ASVEL Villeurbanne and head coach Gianmarco Pozzecco will part ways according to BeBasket, with assistant coach Pierric Poupet set to lead the team until the end of the season. This will happen despite yesterday’s convincing win over Zalgiris that ended the losing streak in Euroleague.

Additionally, ASVEL is rumored to add DeShaun Thomas – who recently left Badalona – in place of John Egbunu.

Goran Dragic recently announced his retirement from playing basketball and is now organising his farewell game. The website Sportal reports a very interesting statement from him.

«I’ll be honest. I had offers from Milan, Madrid, Panathinaikos, and Barcelona. I never wanted to go back to Europe. I didn’t want to be without my family. The only option was Miami, which I talked to. In the end, it didn’t work out because they had too many players under contract».

As is known, Goran’s brother Zoran also played with Olimpia Milano in the 2016-2017 season. The farewell event will be in Ljubljana at the end of August.

Barcelona reportedly in contact with Ricky Rubio

From Spain, the website Sport reports Barcelona’s interest in Ricky Rubio.

The team failed to win even one of the 13 games played in the Eurocup, but is second in ABA Liga with 10 wins.

The 54-year-old Italian coach is expected to find a friendly solution with the Slovenian club soon to solve the three-year contract signed last summer.

Zoran Martic will most likely lead Cedevita until the end of the season.

ASVEL reportedly considering Gianmarco Pozzecco position

French side ASVEL Villeurbanne is not considering the addition of new players and, instead, is evaluating Gianmarco Pozzecco position as head coach of the club according to Gabriel Pantel-Jouve of BeBasket, who adds that this could be a “transition” season for the team while waiting for Vincent Collet after the 2024 Olympics. 

Pozzecco replaced TJ Parker in October and has a 2-11 record in Euroleague (2-15 overall for the team, last in the standings), 7-2 in BetClic Elite, where ASVEL sits at 3rd place tied with Paris Basketball.

Kevin Pangos to join Valencia

Kevin Pangos has reached an agreement with Valencia  and could make his ACB debut as early as next week, a source told to Alessandro Maggi of Sportando.

The Canadian point guard has terminated his contract with Olimpia Milano.

Pangos returns to Spain, where he previously played for Gran Canaria and Barcelona.
