Vasa Pusica drawing serious interest from Dinamo Sassari and Rytas Vilnius

The future of Vasa Pusica could be again in Italy or in Lithuania.
The Serbian guard has an offers on the table from Dinamo Sassari and Rytas Vilnius and he is expected to make a final decision soon, a source told Sportando.
Pusica spent the season, before the suspension due to coronavirus, with VL Pesaro where he was averaging 12.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 18 games played.

Strahinja Jovanović joins WKS Slask Wroclaw on 3-year contract

Strahinja Jovanović signed a 3-year contract with WKS Slask Wroclaw, as announced by the polish team.
This year the serbian pointguard played for Steauy CSM EximBank Bucharest in the top Romanian Division, with averages of 15.7 points, 4.2 assists and 2.9 rebounds over 17 games.

Perth Wildcats re-sign Majok Majok

Championship-winning centre Majok Majok will remain with the Perth Wildcats for the upcoming NBL season.

The Wildcats had a club option to retain Majok after the first year of his contract, and have elected to keep the strong West Aussie on its playing roster.

Majok joined the Wildcats on a two-year contract ahead of the 2019/20 season, and experienced championship success in his first season with his home town team.

He is looking forward to the challenge of a club three-peat.

“It’s going to be exciting, it’s always tough to defend a championship but that’s a challenge we’re all looking forward to,” he said.

“I really had a fun year playing with the guys, being part of the Perth Wildcats organisation and playing in front of the Red Army.”

Coming off a tough 2018/19 season, Majok rejuvenated his career with the move west, playing every game in Perth’s championship-winning campaign.

While playing a back-up centre role, he averaged 3.3 points and 3.6 rebounds per game, impressing coach Trevor Gleeson with his hustle around the basket.

“Majok was great for us, and it’s great to have another championship player returning for next season,” said Gleeson.

“His rebounding, his hustle plays and his willingness to do anything we needed for the team, it’s great to have a player that works so hard for his teammates and really buys into our culture.”

Majok joins Bryce Cotton, Mitch Norton, Jesse Wagstaff, Clint Steindl, Wani Swaka Lo Buluk on the Perth Wildcats roster for the next NBL season.

Iberostar Tenerife and Marcelinho Huestas have extended their relationship one more season, the team announced.
Huertas was under contract until 2021.
Before the suspension the pointguard was averaging 12.9 points and 8.3 assist over 40 games between ACB and BCL.

He is on his way to completing his seventh season with Murcia.

Paul Rigot signed with Gravelines-Dunkerque, the french team announced.
Last season the forward was the best 3-points shooter in Pro B, with 48% on 3.8 attempts per game for Evreux.
He averaged over 12 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assist.

Kostas Sloukas reportedly joining Olympiacos on 3-year €5.5M contract

Kostas Sloukas agreed on a three-year contract with Olympiacos for about €5.5 million, Stefan Makris of Sport24 reports.
The greek guard will leave the Fenerbahce after 5 seasons.
This year Sloukas averaged 11.6 points and 6.1 assist in Euroleague.

The foreigners still in China for resumption of CBA set for June 20

CBA will resume on June 20 but only a few foreigners are in the Asian country ready to be on the court when the season will restart.

According to Sportando’s sources, Jared Cunningham has to be cut from the list since he is already back in the States while Donatas Motiejunas is expected to go back in Lithuanian soon. Both are not playing when CBA resumes.

The others have never returned after suspension or have returned to China and left after CBA postponed the resumption. And now they can’t go back before the country is closed to avoid another coronavirus outbreak

Coach Ertugrul Erdogan in advanced talks with Galatasaray over contract extension

Coach Ertugrul Erdogan met with Galatasaray board and the two sides are advancing towards a multiyear contract extension that was supposed to be done before coronavirus pandemic, a source told Sportando.

Erdogan led Galatasaray over the past two seasons and the team was in 4th position in BSL before the suspension.

The two sides were close to a deal before pandemic and now they have re-engaged in negotiations.

Can Korkmaz headed to Turk Telekom Ankara

Can Korkmaz is heading to Turk Telekom Ankara.
The player informed Galatasaray that he is joining Turk Telekom Ankara, a source told Sportando.
Galatasaray wanted to keep Korkmaz for next season but it won’t raise the first proposal.

Korkmaz averaged 6.9 points per game with 1.3 rebounds and 2 assists in BSL this season.

Basketfaul first reported the two sides were close to an agreement.

Lokomotiv-Kuban extends Stanislav Ilnitsky

Lokomotiv-Kuban has extended the contract agreement with 26-year-old Russian national team Stanislav Ilnitsky. This was reported by Agent Vadim Mikhalevsky.

«Ilnitsky will continue to play for Lokomotiv-Kuban next season. The agreement we signed last year called for the club to withdraw from it. However, Loko’s management has decided to keep the player for the 2020/2021 season» said Izvestia citing Mikhalevsky.

Ilnitsky has been playing for Lokomotiv-Kuban since 2017. In the 2019/2020 season, the player’s average performance was 2.3 points and 1.8 rebounds in 10 minutes.

Olimpia Milano officially signs Kyle Hines to a two-year deal

Olimpia Milano has agreed on a 2-year deal with Kyle Hines, born in Sicklerville, New Jersey, on September 2, 1986, 1.98 mt. tall, power forward and center, coming from seven seasons at CSKA Moscow. “I want to thank Mr. Armani and Mr. Dell’Orco, for allowing me to join Olimpia Milano. HIS CAREER – Kyle Hines played one year at the Camden Catholic High School in New Jersey and then for the next three years at the Timber Creek Regional High School. In his senior year, he was named in the second All-State team and became the school’s all-time leading scorer. In 2004 he landed at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro, where in 2005 he was named Southern Conference’s freshman of the year and as a junior he was voted Southern Conference Player of the Year (he averaged 20.9 points, 9.0 rebounds per game). As a senior he averaged 19.2 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. During his last three college years, he was always named on the All-Southern 1st team. His professional career began in Italy in Veroli where he won the Legadue Italian Cup for two consecutive seasons (16.9 points and 8.6 rebounds on average during the first year, 18.5 points and 8.1 rebounds during the second). In 2010, he moved to Bamberg where he won the Super Cup, the German Cup, the league championship and was the playoff MVP (he averaged 12.9 points and 5.4 rebounds in his EuroLeague rookie season). In 2011 he arrived at Olympiacos Piraeus where in two years he won the EuroLeague title twice and the Greek championship in 2012. During the first EuroLeague run he averaged 9.9 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, during the second he had 9.4 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. In 2013 he signed for CSKA Moscow where he won the EuroLeague two more times, in 2016 and 2019, in addition to winning six VTB League championships. In 2016 (when he scored 10.9 points per game) and in 2018 he was named Defender of the year in the EuroLeague. During the last season he had 8.8 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. For his career he is shooting 61.6 percent from two-point range.

NOTES – During his college career, he had a streak of 37 consecutive games with at least one blocked shot. Among his teammates he had Ricky Hickman (he played for Olimpia in the 2016/17 season). He is one of six NCAA players in history to have had at least 2.000 points, 1.000 rebounds and 300 blocked shots for their careers. He was named on the All-EuroLeague team of the last decade. He is the first American in the list of appearances in the EuroLeague, has a nine-year streak of Final Four appearances, from 2012 to 2019. He is the second EuroLeague all-time offensive rebounder, he is also sixth overall in rebounds, third for blocked shots, fifth in two-point baskets scored. At CSKA he played along Vlado Micov (2013/14), Sergio Rodriguez (2017-2019) and was coached by Ettore Messina (2013/14), his general manager at Olympiacos Piraeus was Christos Stavropoulos.
