L’esterno rookie ha chiuso la stagione da senior ad Alabama con medie di 12.5 punti, 5.1 rimbalzi e 1.3 recuperi.

In 4 anni con i Crimson Tide Petty Jr ha realizzato 311 delle 814 triple tentate, pari al 38%.

Free agent John Petty Jr. will sign an Exhibit 10 deal with the Pelicans, source tells @HoopsRumors. Petty, an Alabama product, went undrafted back in July.
