Paul Silas si è spento a 79 anni, secondo quanto riportato da Bob Ryan.
Protagonista in NBA sia da giocatore (3 titoli, 2 ASG) che da coach, nel 2003 venne scelto dai Cleveland Cavaliers per facilitare lo sbarco in NBA dell’attesissimo fenomeno LeBron James.
Lontano dalle panchine NBA dal 2012, al suo posto si sta facendo strada il figlio Stephen, attualmente alla guida dei Rockets.
