Zalgiris Kaunas has made a sudden change in their coaching decision, initially agreeing on a deal with Andrea Trinchieri, but then announcing that head coach Kazys Maksvytis will stay. The club’s general manager, Paulius Jankunas, clarified the situation in a press conference.
Jankunas expressed full support for Maksvytis, acknowledging discussions with both the coaching staff and players. He admitted the team’s current performance doesn’t match last year’s, particularly in defense, leading to doubts and distrust. Despite the challenges and rumors about an agreement with Trinchieri, the club chose to continue with Maksvytis, hoping for improved results.
