Washington Wizards general manager Will Dawkins said Sunday he expects Anthony Davis to return to the court this season, noting the timeline should come into focus during the All-Star break.
Dawkins’ comments followed a report from The Athletic suggesting Washington was likely to shut down Davis for the remainder of the season. Davis has been rehabbing a sprained finger on his non-shooting hand since Jan. 8, with an initial six-week return estimate.
“The plan for AD right now is to go back to Dallas and finish his rehab,” Dawkins said, adding that an All-Star break doctor visit will be “a big appointment” to assess progress. Dawkins also said Trae Young, sidelined by a sprained knee, is “trending in a positive direction” and will be reassessed during the break as well.
