Indiana Pacers use only six players in loss to Hawks

The Indiana Pacers used only six players against Atlanta, the earliest such occurrence in an NBA season since 1948

The Indiana Pacers used just six players in their 108-104 loss to the Atlanta Hawks because of a massive injury and rest list. It marked the earliest point in a season since 1948 that a team has used six or fewer players. Among those unavailable were Tyrese Haliburton, Pascal Siakam, T.J. McConnell, Andrew Nembhard, Aaron Nesmith and Ivica Zubac.

“They all played too many minutes, but they played their hearts out,” Rick Carlisle said. Jarace Walker logged 44 minutes, while no Pacers player spent fewer than 34 minutes on the floor.

Indiana still had a chance late, cutting the deficit to two with 1:36 remaining, before Atlanta closed it out behind 34 points from Nickeil Alexander-Walker.
