Markel Brown’s future with Pallacanestro Trieste appears increasingly uncertain. According to La Prealpina, the American guard has informed the club of his desire not to return for the 2026-27 season, despite being under contract on a $280,000 deal.
Among the teams showing interest is Napoli Basket, but negotiations are currently stalled by a significant gap in the buyout valuation. Trieste is reportedly asking for around $200,000, while Napoli is willing to offer only $60,000 to $70,000.
Napoli is also prioritizing its budget for the signing of a starting foreign center, making an agreement even more difficult to reach.
As things stand, the most likely scenario is that Brown will not be playing for Trieste next season, although the two clubs still need to find a solution.
