The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 116-103 on Sunday for their eighth straight win, improving to an NBA-best 53-15. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander posted 20 points and 10 assists, narrowly extending his record streak of 128 consecutive games with at least 20 points, pushing further past Wilt Chamberlain’s old mark (126).
SGA had 10 points entering the fourth, then checked back in with 7:10 left. A stepback jumper over Anthony Edwards with 1:46 remaining and a foul sent him to the line, where he hit the free throw to keep the streak alive as the crowd chanted “M-V-P!”. “I didn’t care about anything besides winning… winning is all that matters,” he told reporters.
Chet Holmgren added 21 points and nine rebounds, and Isaiah Joe scored 20 for OKC. Julius Randle led Minnesota with 32, with Edwards adding 19, but the Wolves committed 22 turnovers while the Thunder had only seven, plus a major shot-volume edge (101-77).
