Serbia head coach Svetislav Pešić was pleased with his team’s dominant 106–72 win over Slovenia in their final pre-EuroBasket test, but urged caution. “Let’s speak realistically and not get carried away. Everyone says we’re favorites, but there are six to eight medal contenders,” Pešić stated.
On Vasilije Micić, who returned to the court despite lingering issues, Pešić commented: “He gave what he could. We’ll see how he feels in the next few days. The important thing is that he’s pain-free.” He also emphasized the challenges of the preparation period: “We missed one more game. Some players lost rhythm after long breaks. We relied on science and testing to get them ready.”
Pešić confirmed the final roster will be announced soon, adding, “Everyone has earned the right to be on this team.” Serbia will open EuroBasket 2025 on Wednesday, August 27 at 20:15, against Estonia in Riga.
