Spanoulis: “The Intercontinental Cup will be better every year”

The Greek star Vassilis Spanoulis was in Cairo to attend the FIBA Intercontinental Cup, won by Flamengo against Burgos in the Final played yesterday.

Lucas Martinez (Flamengo) received the MVP trophy from Spanoulis, who was MVP of this event in 2013 when Olympiacos Piraeus won it.

“You see different cultures and different styles of basketball, it’s very interesting,” said Spanoulis.
“Basketball is changing, it is quicker and more physical. Like everything else in the world, basketball continues evolving.”

“It’s important to develop basketball all over the world, it’s the goal of FIBA. I know the people who run the Intercontinental Cup, so I’m sure that this competition will be better and better every year.”
