Despite the fact that his contract ended on 30 September and he stepped down from his role as head coach of Serbia, coach Svetislav Pesic will remain at the helm of the national team. According to Meridian Sport, an agreement in principle has been reached to continue the working relationship between the parties until the end of EuroBasket 2025.
Nebojsa Covic, the recently-appointed president of the Serbian Basketball Federation, reportedly met with the coach and achieved his goal of extending the contract of the coach who won the bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
