Suns reportedly signing Bismack Biyombo

The Phoenix Suns plan to sign Bismack Biyombo on a 10-day deal.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the big man would have a good chance of staying even beyond the duration of the first deal.

Last year Biyombo produced 5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game for the Charlotte Hornets.

Lakers trading Rajon Rondo to Cavaliers

The Los Angeles Lakers have traded Rajon Rondo to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Cavs were looking to add a point guard after Collin Sexton and Ricky Rubio season ending injuries.

The Cavaliers also have a trade exception that can absorb Rondo’s $2.6 million salary.

The Denver Nuggets are signing Davon Reed to a third 10-day hardship exception, Mike Singer reports.

The Miami(FL) product has averaged 5 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 9 games played under the previous two 10-day contracts.

 

Cavaliers’ Ricky Rubio out for season with torn ACL in left knee

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Ricky Rubio has been diagnosed with a torn ACL in his left knee and will miss the remainder of the 2021-22 season, the team announced on Wednesday.

Rubio, who has had a major impact on Cleveland’s turnaround in his first season with the team, slipped as he planted in the lane on a drive and his knee buckled with two minutes left in the fourth quarter.

Rubio collapsed to the floor, grabbed his knee and was in obvious distress before being helped to his feet and walked to the locker room for evaluation. He was unable to put any weight on his left leg while being assisted by teammates Isaac Okoro and Kevin Love.

 

Before getting hurt, Rubio, who was starting at the point against the Pelicans because Darius Garland was placed in Health and Safety Protocols, scored 27 points while adding 13 rebounds and eight assists.

The loss of Rubio is a significant blow to the Cavaliers. The 31-year-old has brought leadership, energy and served as a mentor to Cleveland’s young players since arriving in a summer trade from Minnesota.

Pistons to sign rookie Micah Potter

The Detroit Pistons are signing rookie Micah Potter to a 10-day hardship deal, Shams Charania reports.
The Wisconsin product was playing in G League with the Sioux Falls Skyforce (14.3 ppg, 10.6 rpg, 1.1 bpg).

Magic reportedly signing Gabe York

The Orlando Magic have reached an agreement with Gabe York on a 10-day hardship deal, Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

The Arizona product was playing in G League with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (18.3 ppg, 4.4 apg, 1.6 spg, 48% 3p on 8.6 attempts per game).

Agent for Dzanan Musa says it is unlikely player’s departure from Rio Breogan

Misko Raznatovic, agent for Dzanan Musa, said that the transfer of the former NBA player from Rio Brogan is unlikely.

“Only a miracle can lead to a change of jersey for him” Raznatovic said.

“Musa’s performance in Spain are followed a lot and important European teams are showing interest in him” Raznatovic told SDNA.

“The offers are not considered as of now. Musa is 22, is playing his best basketball and is always smiling” his agent said.

Musa is averaging 18.9ppg in ACB.

Brad Wanamaker to join Wizards

Brad Wanamaker will remain in the NBA.
The guard will join the Washington Wizards as soon as he clears waivers, sources tell Sportando and Israeli journalist Yakov Meir.

Wanamaker has played 22 games for the Pacers this season averaging 3.4ppg.

Former Virginia averaged 21.8 points,  7.8 rebounds in G League with Canton.

Malik Newman reportedly signing 10-day hardship deal with Cavs

Malik Newman will sign a 10-day deal with the Cleveland Cavs, Shams Charania reported.

The Kansas product is averaging 17.7 points (42% 3P) and 3.8 assists per game in G League with the Cleveland Charge.

The Washington Wizards have announced the arrival of Craig Sword.

The Mississipi State product signed a 10-day hardship deal.

Sword was playing in G League with the Capital City Go-Go (6.3 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 1.3 spg).
