The Golden State Warriors and Brooklyn Nets are both rumored to be interested in signing Paul Millsap, as reported by Mike Singer of the Denver Post.
The veteran big man is an unrestricted free agent after playing the last four seasons with the Denver Nuggets. Millsap averaged 8.9 ppg and 4.7 rpg in 56 games in 2020-21.

Marc Gasol is not a lock to return to the Lakers, Marc Stein reports.
The veteran big man, who signed a two-year deal with the Lakers last summer, had announced his return to Los Angeles soon after Spain’s elimination at the Tokyo Olympics.
Last year Gasol averaged 5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.1 assist per game.

Forward Josh Hall has re-signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder on a Two-Way contract, reports Keith Smith
Hall was on a two-way last season as well and he averaged 4.1 ppg and 2.8 rpg in 21 games with OKC
Despite recently trading for Patrick Beverley, the Minnesota Timberwolves continue to be engaged with the Philadelphia 76ers on trading for Ben Simmons as reported by The Athletic’s Jon Krawczynski. However, the Wolves lack of win-now talent that they are willing to trade has reportedly been a stumbling block in the talks.
A player that may end up in a trade for Simmons is Wolves’ latest addition, Patrick Beverley.
According to Shams Charania, Grant Riller will sign a two-way deal with the Philadelphia 76ers.
Riller as a rookie was a two-way player of the Charlotte Hornets, but played in just 7 NBA games.
The guard averaged over 13 points and 3 assist in 11 games with the Greensboro Sworm in G League.

The former Iowa swingman averaged over 10 points and 5 rebounds in the Las Vegas Summer League.
The Spurs selected Wieskamp with the No.41 pick of the last NBA Draft.

The Miami HEAT have signed D.J. Stewart.
Stewart has appeared in six Summer League games (three starts) with the HEAT, including two during the California Classic in Sacramento where he averaged 7.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.00 steals while shooting 42.9 percent from the field and totaled a +14 plus/minus, helping Miami to a perfect 2-0 record.
Stewart played two seasons at Mississippi State, appearing in 64 collegiate games (50 starts) for the Bulldogs averaging 12.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 32.4 minutes while shooting 42.5 percent from the field.

The Los Angeles Lakers have worked out Isaiah Thomas, Darren Collison and Mike James.
The Lakers are in search of a third point guard.
Per Yahoo Sports, A signing is not imminent, sources said. The Lakers could also elect to bring players into training camp to fight for the last few roster spots.
The Lakers, who have 12 players under guaranteed contracts, will go into the 2021-22 season carrying 14 players in order to maintain flexibility, sources said. Each team can carry a maximum of 15 players and two two-way players.
A third point guard is a priority, sources said, along with potentially adding another wing.
Thomas, James and Russell Westbrook worked out together Tuesday morning in Los Angeles, sources said.
The New York Knicks and Taj Gibson restructured the deal that originally was a single-season contract.
The forward will sign a two-year, $10.1 million contract with the Knicks.

The Memphis Grizzlies have traded Patrick Beverley to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Jarrett Culver and Juancho Hernangomez.
Beverley will play again for Gersson Rosas, now president of the Timberwolves, that was in Rockets front office when the point guard was in Houston.
Minnesota gets the toughness and leadership of Beverley for its young, developing roster. Gersson Rosas had Beverley on his team with Rockets and knows what he brings. Memphis continues to add talent along the margins, including Culver, who's only 22 and a former No. 6 pick.

Joel Embiid will sign a four-year, $196 million supermax contract with the Philadelphia 76ers.
Per ESPN, The extension keeps Embiid under contract with the Sixers through the 2026-27 season for a total of $261 million. The four-time All-Star already was set to make $65 million over the final two years of his current deal.
Embiid, who represented himself in the negotiations, became eligible for a supermax extension this summer after finishing second in MVP voting and making the All-NBA second team with averages of 28.5 points and 10.6 rebounds in 51 regular-season games in 2020-21.

Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart has agreed to a four-year, $77.1 million contract extension, reports The Athletic’s Shams Charania
The deal is for the maximum amount Smart could sign for on an extension but less than he could have had he waited until free agency. Deal begins for the 2022-23 season and also includes a trade kicker. It does not include a player option.

Rookie center Luka Garza has agreed to a Two-Way deal with the Detroit Pistons, reports Shams Charania of The Athletic
Garza had a productive Summer League for the Pistons after he was selected No. 52 in the draft out of Iowa.
The Pelicans are signing second-round pick Herb Jones to a 3-year deal, with the latter year being a team option, reports Will Guillory of The Athletic
Jones is averaging 7.7 ppg and 3.7 rpg in Summer League
According to Tim Cato of The Athletic, the Dallas Mavericks are targeting Lauri Markkanen, however the odds of the Finnish landing in Texas are at “30-40%” as of now.
A player that could go to Chicago in return could be Maxi Kleber, whom the Bulls are said to be interested in.
The Toronto Raptors are not currently shopping Pascal Siakam though they are willing to listen to incoming calls. The All Star forward, for his part, wants to remain with the Raptors, sources tell Sam Amick of The Athletic
Siakam has three seasons and $106 million remaining on his contract. Sources say Ujiri has also made it clear to Siakam and his entourage that he’s not being shopped on the market
The Memphis Grizzlies are “open-minded” about how Patrick Beverley, Rajon Rondo and Daniel Oturu might fit on their roster following their acquisition of the trio from the Los Angeles Clippers, reports ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Memphis has 16 players on guaranteed contracts and will be open to a trade. Both Beverley ($14.3 million) and Rondo ($7.5 million) are on expiring contracts for the 21-22 season.
Yam Madar is expected to join Ratiopharm Ulm if he doesn’t get a contract in the NBA.
Per The Sports Rabbi and Israel Hayom, Israeli guard Yam Madar is a candidate to play with German club Ratiopharm Ulm for the upcoming season should he not receive a contract to play in the NBA with the Boston Celtics. The 20-year old Madar was selected by the Celtics in the 2020 NBA Draft with the 47th pick in the second round and is currently playing in the Summer League.
Last season with Hapoel Tel Aviv, Madar scored 17.1 points, grabbed 3 rebounds and handed out 5.2 assists in 30 games. So far in 3 Summer League games with the Celtics the point guard has scored 4.7 points but has had to sit out the last couple with an injury. Madar still has one year left on his Hapoel Tel Aviv contract.
