Juancho Hernangomez traded to Jazz in 3-team deal

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports the details of a trade between Spurs, Jazz and Trail Blazers, when we are now 24 hours from the NBA trade deadline.

Utah Jazz takes Nickeil Alexander-Walker from Portland and Juancho Hernangomez from Spurs.

San Antonio gets Tomas Satoransky from Portland and a second round pick from the Jazz, while the Blazers get Joe Ingles and Elijah Hughes from Utah plus a future second round pick.

Ingles leaves the Jazz after 7 and a half seasons. Utah strengthens the second unit with the arrival of two players who have not yet managed to make their mark in the NBA.

This year Alexander-Walker  averaged 12.9 points and 2.8 assists per game with the Pelicans.

The Jazz will be Hernangomez’s third team this season, after Celtics (18 games) and Spurs (5).

Los Angeles Lakers feel urgency to make changes before the deadline as reported by ESPN.

LeBron James had a hand in L.A.’s roster construction in the last offseason, consulting with Lakers vice president of basketball operations and general manager Rob Pelinka on everything from the Westbrook trade with the Washington Wizards to free-agent signings. 

Pelinka will continue to collaborate with James leading up to the deadline in an attempt to improve the Lakers.

Blazers plan to reshape roster around Damian Lillard

The trade with the Pelicans for CJ McCollum will help Portland in reshaping roster around Damian Lillard.

Per ESPN, The team is also preparing to commit a long-term extension this summer to 21-year-old Anfernee Simons who has excelled this season with Lillard and McCollum missing time. Portland created a $20.8 million trade exception with the deal and will have up to potentially $60 million in cap space this summer to go along with the draft picks they received from both the Norman Powell-Robert Covington deal with the LA Clippers and this deal with New Orleans.

The Blazers are now $17.1 million below the tax for this season.

Pacers trade Sabonis, Lamb and Holiday to Kings for Haliburton, Hield and Thompson

The Indiana Pacers are trading Domantas Sabonis, Jeremy Lamb and Justin Holiday to the Sacramento Kings.

The Kings are sending Tyrese Haliburton, Buddy Hield and Tristan Thompson to Indianapolis.

Blazers acquire Hart, Satoransky, Louzada, Walker-Alexander and three picks for McCollum

The Portland Trail Blazers have acquired four players: Josh Hart, Tomas Satoransky, Didi Louzada, Nickeil Walker-Alexander, 2022 protected first-round pick and two second-round picks for CJ McCollum.

The Blazers also send Tony Snell and Larry Nance to New Orleans.

The Mississipi State product started the season in G League with the Raptors 905 (19.1 ppg, 10.4 rpg).

Greg Monroe reportedly returning to Bucks on 10-day deal

Greg Monroe has reached an agreement with the Milwaukee Bucks for a ten-day contract.

According to Michael Scotto, the big man had several offers on the table and decided to return to the Bucks, where he played from 2015 to 2017.

This year, Monroe has played 3 games with Minnesota and 2 with Washington.

Pelicans sign Zylan Cheatham and Miye Oni to 10-day contracts

The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that the team has signed forward Zylan Cheatham and guard Miye Oni to 10-day contracts via the COVID hardship exception.

This season, Cheatham averaged 15.3 points and 12.0 rebounds in 12 G League games with the Salt Lake City Stars and the Pelicans’ G League affiliate, the Birmingham Squadron.

Oni started the season with the Utah Jazz.

Trail Blazers trade Powell, Covington to Clippers for Bledsoe, Johnson and Winslow

The Trail Blazers have acquired guards Eric Bledsoe and Keon Johnson and forward Justise Winslow from the LA Clippers in exchange for Norman Powell and Robert Covington, the team announced today. Portland also received Detroit’s 2025 second-round pick from the Clippers in the trade.
