Club Atletico Peñarol has announced the arrival of Vander Blue.

The former Marquette guard had started the season in Mexico with the Libertadores de Queretaro, scoring 21.7 points with 3.7 assists and 1.8 steals per game.

 

Juancho Hernangómez reportedly open to play in Turkey, Russia

According to Nacho Duke of Marca, Utah Jazz forward Juancho Hernangómez is thinking of returning to Europe next season, and he would be open to playing a season in Russia or Turkey.

The reporter adds that Barcellona joined the race to sign the versatile forward.

His contract of about $ 7.4 million for next season will become guaranteed if he remains on the Jazz roster beyond June 30th.

The spanish forward this year has played a total of 25 games with 3 teams,  Celtics, Spurs and Jazz.

 

Baskonia reportedly on the market for a pointguard and big man

According to Donatas Urbonas, Baskonia is among the most active Euroleague teams to reinforce the roster before the deadline of 23 February.

The spanish team is looking for a point guard to remedy the departure of Lamar Peters, and could also add a frontcourt player.

Coach Spahija’s team is 16th in Euroleague with 7 wins in 24 games.

s.Oliver Wurzburg officially signs Abdul-Malik Abu. Geoffrey Groselle, who was announced by the German club on Monday, stays in Fortitudo Bologna.

s.Oliver Wurzburg CEO Steffen Liebler said in a press release: «This is something that has never happened to us before. We have notified the league and are considering legal action against player’s agent. On Monday evening we received the contract signed by the player. The agent told us he got free. Groselle was ready to play against Bonn. But we found that the previous club hadn’t let him go».

Maccabi reportedly in talks with Oded Kattash. Trinchieri is the main target for the next season

Oded Kattash is the main target of Maccabi Tel Aviv to replace Ioannis Sfairopoulos, but the agreement between the parties has not yet been reached as reported by sport5.co.il.

Kattash, who has already coached Maccabi in 2007, would like a 1+1 contract. Maccabi offered a deal until the end of this season according with Israelian site.

If Kattash does not sign Avi Even will coach the team for this season.

Next Summer, the Maccabi Tel Aviv’s main target will be Andrea Trinchieri. Italian coach has another year of contract with Bayern Munich.

Geoffrey Groselle reportedly stays in Fortitudo Bologna

Geoffrey Groselle stays in Fortitudo Bologna according with Italian newspapers Corriere dello Sport and il Resto del Carlino.

S. Oliver Wurzburg would apologize with Fortitudo for announcing the deal on Monday as reported by Il Resto del Carlino.

Groselle will leave Italy when Fortitudo Bologna has found a replacement.

 

Maccabi and Giannis Sfairopoulos part ways

Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv’s Owners and management met today coach Giannis Sfairopoulos and came to a conclusion that the coach will step down from his duties. The experienced coach, who directed the yellows to winning the last three Israeli championships and last year’s State Cup, will leave the team after over three years at the helm alongside assistant coach Vassilis Geragotelis. Avi Even will serve as interim head coach.

Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball Club wishes to thank coach Giannis Sfairopoulos for changing the culture in the team when he arrived, his contribution to elevating young players and coaches, leading the team to a secured EuroLeague playoffs spot in the unfinished 2019/20 season and of course orchestrating three consecutive Israeli championships, one State Cup and two Winner Cups during his three-and-a-half seasons on the sidelines, while creating a special connection to the Maccabi spirit and legacy. Real Madrid reportedly in advanced talks with Shane Larkin for next season

According to Jose Ignacio Huguet of Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid has reached a verbal agreement with Shane Larkin for the next season.

The parties would be in advanced negotiations, and Real Madrid would have begun to negotiate with Baskonia  to waive the ‘derecho de tanteo’ they maintain over the Miami(FL) product in Endesa League.

The point guard played for Vitoria’s side in the 2016-17 season.

This year Larkin is producing 14.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game in Euroleague.

Larkin’s arrival at Real Madrid would mean the departure of one of the two playmakers,  Nigel Williams-Goss or Thomas Heurtel.

Nadir Hifi signs two-year contract extension with ESSM Le Portel

ESSM Le Portel has announced the extension of Nadir Hifi’s contract until 2024.

This season, the 19-year-old Algerian is scoring 4.9 points in 12 minutes per game in BetClic Elite, and over 15 points and 7 assists per game in LNB Espoirs.

SIG Strasbourg lands Jordan Howard

SIG Strasbourg has announced the arrival of Jordan Howard.

The Puerto Rican guard will replace the injured John Roberson.

Howard started the season in G-League with the Capitanes of Mexico City, where he scored 15.4 points per game, shooting 46% from long range.
