Olympiacos extends Sasha Vezenkov

Sasha Vezenkov has signed a contract extension until 2024 with Olympiacos, the greek team announced.

Vezenkov produced 11.5 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in the last Euroleague, shooting with 43% from long range.

Andrea Amato to join Varese

Andrea Amato is signing with Pallacanestro Varese, La Prealpina reported. The Italian will replace the injured Tre Kelly.
Amato will also join his former teammate and close friend Alessandro Gentile who decided to return to Italy and sign in Varese during the summer.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson set to join Besiktas

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson is set to join Besiktas.
The big man has appeared in 305 NBA games averaging more than 9 points and 5 rebounds per contest.
Hollis-Jefferson best season in the NBA was in 2017-2018 while with the Nets he averaged 13.9ppg, 6.7rpg and 2.5apg in 68 games.

Kone Bazoumana joins Liege Basket

Kone Bazoumana has reached an agreement with Liege Basket.
The player averaged 7.7ppg in Bundesliga with Braunschweig last season.

Borac signs Sava Lešić

Borac has strengthened its ranks with another addition at the positions four and five. Power forward Sava Lešić has recently arrived to Čačak and after a try-out period with coach Marko Marinović, the two sides have reached an agreement.

Sava Lešić put his signature on a contract that obligates him to wear the Borac jersey in the following year.

Former FMP player has had a rich career. He has been playing for teams like Vizura, Partizan NIS, Crvena zvezda mts, Radnički, Enisey, Reggiana, Mega, Igokea, Zob Ahan, Union Olimpija – it’s definitely a list worth all respect.

For sure Lešić will be a valuable reinforcement ahead of the forthcoming season, the second of Borac in the ABA League. As the newcomer in the ranks of Borac used to wear jerseys of many ABA League teams before, his knowledge and experience will be of great importance in the games, that are soon to begin in the elite regional competition.

It’s worth mentioning, that Sava Lešić is the sixth reinforcement for Borac this summer. Before him, Lopez, Pecarski, Tomašević, Hale, Marinković and Đoković have signed for the club of Čačak. Also, Todorović and Sanadze have extended their contracts with Borac.

Bazoumana Kone joining Liege Basket

Bazoumana Kone has reached an agreement with Liege Basket in Belgium, agent Benjamin Stevic of BDR Sports confirmed to Sportando. The rumor was first reported by the local website La Meuse Liège.

Kone spent last season in Germany, appearing in nine BBL games with Braunschweig. He averaged 7.7 points in 15.5 minutes per contest.

Former UConn guard Omar Calhoun has agreed to a deal with Okapi Aalst in the BNXT League, agent Benjamin Stevic of BDR Sports told Sportando.

Calhoun spent last season in Ukraine, averaging 16.3 points per game for Ternopil-TNEU. He also played in Finland, Italy, Russia, Poland and Hungary during his career.

Fortitudo Bologna coach Jasmin Repesa is reportedly choosing whether to resign his position, according to Walter Fuochi of La Repubblica Bologna. Repesa has travelled to Zagreb after yesterday’s practice, officially for family reasons.

Repesa returned to Fortitudo this summer, signing a multi-year deal, after leading the team to its second Italian championship in 2005. The Italian side, however, has struggled in preseason, badly losing all its four SuperCup games and numerous sources have underlined some financial struggles. As of now, Fortitudo is the lone Serie A team that has yet to announce a main sponsor for the 2021/22 season.

Edgar Vicedo has signed a one-month contract with Unicaja Malaga, the Spanish team announced.

The forward has been with Malaga since August, and has played in some friendly games.

Vicedo played 9 seasons with Movistar Estudiantes, the last with 4.5 points and 2.6 rebounds per game in ACB.

The former UNC playmaker spent three seasons with KK Partizan Belgrade, the last with averages of 9.6 points (44% 3P) and 2.1 assists in Eurocup.

O.J. Mayo reportedly joining Unics Kazan

According to Sport-Business.ru, Unics Kazan has reached an agreement with O.J. Mayo.

The 33-year-old guard will play for the first time in his career for a European club.

Mayo, the third overall pick of the 2008 NBA Draft, was banned by the NBA in 2016 for violating the league’s drug program.

In 8 seasons in the league Mayo has played with Grizzlies, Mavericks and Bucks.

In the last two years the former USC  has played in CBA with Liaoning (19.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game in 2020-21, over 28 points in the previous one).

Aris B.C. announces Anthony Cowan Jr, Olivier Hanlan

Aris B.C. announced that FIBA removed all eight bans imposed for debt to players.

The greek team added that an amount of 300,000 was allocated in order to reach the eight agreements.

Aris B.C. received the green light from FIBA to return to operate on the market, and took the opportunity to formalize the arrivals of Anthony Cowan Jr and Olivier Hanlan.

Cowan Jr, a former Maryland guard, as a rookie averaged 6.2 points and 2.2 assists per game with the Memphis Hustle, in G League.

Hanlan spent last season with Iraklis, averaging 15.1 points and 2.8 assists in 28 games between the FIBA Europe Cup and the Greek league.
