Cska Moscow announced Kevin Pangos.
Canadian point guard inks in Russia until 2024.
Cska Mocow press release
Kevin started the current season in the NBA: after six years in Gran Canaria, Zalgiris, Barcelona and Zenit, he ended up in Cleveland. But Pangos did not shine in the strongest league in the world. He played in just 24 games, averaged almost 7 minutes, 1.6 points and 1.3 assists. Last week, the Cavaliers agreed with the player to terminate his contract.
The previous season for the playmaker was the peak of his European career. He showed himself as the leader of Zenit, averaging 13.5 points (52.2% field goals, 39% three-pointers, 84.5% free throws), 2.0 rebounds and 6.7 assists, he helped the team make the playoffs, he became the MVP of the first games of the series, and was elected to the All-EuroLeague First Team.
Pangos also has two Lithuanian championship titles and the Spanish Cup in his collection. In 2019, Kevin defended the colors of Team Canada at the World Cup.
Dimitris Itoudis, CSKA head coach:
We all welcome Kevin Pangos… finally, because he knows that we wanted him to come earlier. But better late than never. Kevin will definitely add his brains, knowledge and experience, creation-wise. He is in a good shape. We are looking forward to help him make the quickest adaptation. Teammates and coaches will do their best to embed Kevin into our system as soon as possible. Thank you to the President Andrey Vatutin, the management and sponsors for making this move possible.
Kevin Pangos, CSKA guard:
I am very excited for this opportunity of joining such a great club in CSKA. I am excited to help this team win championships and achieve the ultimate goal in the end of the day. I am looking forward to get in there, starting right away. I can’t wait for myself and my family to get to Moscow.
