Olimpia Milano has reached an agreement with Deshaun Thomas, born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on August 29, 1991, 2.01 mt tall, coming from Bayern Munich. “Deshaun will bring to our team experience, shooting and versatility: he is the player we were looking for to have more depth and more solutions. We are happy that he will be part of our team,” Olimpia’s general manager, Christos Stavropoulos said.“ “I’m happy and glad that Olimpia wanted me and chose me. It is a blessing for e me and my family to have this opportunity to fight and compete for such an historic team and help win as many games as possible, both in the EuroLeague and the Italian league. WHO IS DESHAUN THOMAS – Deshaun Thomas comes from Fort Wayne in Indiana where he attended the Bishop Luers High School leading it to three consecutive Indiana State titles. From 2010 to 2013, he played for Ohio State. In his third season spent with the Buckeyes he averaged 19.8 points per game with 5.9 rebounds. In 2012 he was named to the second All-Big Ten team and after the following season ha was included to the first team. In 2013, after being the number 58 selection, by the San Antonio Spurs, in the NBA draft, he came to Europe to play for Nanterre in France (12.2 points per game in the French league). Subsequently, he was at Barcelona (7.1 points per game in the EuroLeague), the Austin Spurs, played for Efes (7.3 points per game), Maccabi (11.5 points per game in the EuroLeague), Panathinaikos (10.5 points per game during his first year, 13.9 with 4.4 rebounds in the second) and Bayern Munich (9.9 during the 2021/22 season). In between he also had a one-year experience in Tokyo in the Japanese league. He’s won the Greek championship and the Greek Cup in 2019 with Panathinaikos. He’s won the Israeli championship in 2018 with Maccabi. He’s won the French Cup with Nanterre. In the EuroLeague he has played 197 games with a career average of 9.7 points per game.
Keith Hornsby, an excellent shooter from LSU, remains in France for another season.
The guard has reached an agreement with Nanterre 92.
Last year Hornsby defended the colors of Metropolitans 92, scoring 11 points (50% FG, 45% 3P, 87% FT) in 22 minutes per game between BetClic Elite and Eurocup.
The center’s previous contract was set to expire in 2023.
In the triumphant last season Tibor Pleiss averaged 9.6 points (57% FG, 44% 3P) and 4.3 rebounds in Euroleague, and 12.8 points (58% FG, 30% 3P) plus 5.5 rebounds in BSL.

American DJ Kennedy joins Ukrainian Prometey again.
Prometey Slobozhanske has reached an agreement with DJ Kennedy to return to the club for the upcoming season (via EuroCup). Kennedy (1.98 meters, 32 years old) spent the majority of last season with Prometey, but due to the situation in Ukraine, he saw out the campaign with Hapoel Galil Elyon of Israel. Whilst playing for Prometey in 2021-22, he averaged 13.0 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.3 steals in 20 Ukrainian League matches. He also recorded averages of 12.9 points, 7.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.1 steals in 11 Basketball Champions League games for Prometey.
Kennedy already has experience of playing in the 7DAYS EuroCup from his time at BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque of France and Krasny Oktyabr of Russia during the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons, respectively. However, he only played a combined seven times, during which time he averaged 13.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists.
After spending four years at St. John’s University, Kennedy has gone on to play for 14 clubs during his 11-year professional career: Erie BayHawks and Rio Grande of the G League; Cleveland of the NBA; BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque of France; Hapoel Holon of Israel; Krasny Oktyabr and Enisey of Russia; Riesen Ludwigsburg of Germany; Guangzhou of China; Pınar Karsiyaka of Turkey; Melbourne of Australia; Reyer Venezia of Italy; and then Prometey and Hapoel Galil Elyon last season.

Hapoel Tel Aviv kept getting ready for its 7DAYS EuroCup debut next season by inking big man Chris Horton, the club announced Wednesday (via EuroCup). Horton (2.03 meters, 28 years old) arrives from Nanterre 92, where he averaged 13.7 points on 62.0% two-point shooting in 28 French League games last season. He led that competition in rebounds (8.1 rpg.) and blocked shots (1.8 bpg.), ranking third in steals (1.9 spg.).

The former NBA center is ready to return to play after suffering a serious injury last summer at the Tokyo Olympics.
Aron Baynes will resume his basketball career in a new deal with the Brisbane Bullets of the NBL, @AgentMoldovan tells ESPN. Contract has an NBA out so he can return to league, which has been his goal after grueling recovery from the freak fall at Olympics a year ago this week.

WHO’S PANGOS – Kevin Pangos, a Canadian, was raised in Ontario, slightly north of Toronto, gaining exposure while playing for the Canadian Junior National Teams. With the Under 16 team, he won the bronze medal at the Americas Championship in 2009 then again at the Under 17 World Championship in Hamburg, Germany, in 2010. In 2011, he played in the Under 19 World Championship again. In the fall of 2011, he moved to the United States to enroll at Gonzaga, in Spokane, Was., where he stayed four years. He has played 142 games, starting 141 times, the only exception being his career debut. Overall, he averaged 12.8 points and 3.8 assists per game, while shooting 41.5 percent from three-point range. He was West Coast Conference’s newcomer of the year in 2012, a All-WCC first-team member in each of his four seasons. In 2015 he was also player of the year and was named to the All-America third team. Undrafted in 2015, he moved to Europe and signed for Gran Canaria. He was named to the All-Eurocup second team (11.9 points, 4.8 assists per game and 51.2 percent shooting from three), after leading his team to the semifinals stage.
In 2016, he moved to Zalgiris Kaunas, making his EuroLeague’s debut. After averaging 8.7 points and 3.2 assists per game (45.7 percent shooting from three) as a rookie, he made a jump in his second season, averaging 12.7 points and 5.9 assists per game during the 2017/18 season when Zalgiris reached the Final Four and he was named to the All-EuroLeague second team. In 2018, he was signed by FC Barcelona. He had 7.0 points and 3.2 assists per game. He remained two years, but during his second season -however cut short – he could only play three Spanish league games and no EuroLeague games at all, because of a foot injury. In 2020, he moved to Zenit Saint Petersburg and averaged 13.5 points and 6.7 assists per game while being named to the All-EuroLeague first team. In 2021, he made his NBA debut with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He appeared in 29 games.
NOTE – Kevin Pangos has played the 2019 World Championships in China with Canada. His father, Bill Pangos, has been women’s coach at the York University in Canada for 29 seasons. At Gonzaga, he set the school record for three-pointers, 322, and is fifth for games played and points scored. He had a nine-three outing in his second game at Gonzaga, scoring 33 points-
Davide Moretti and Olimpia Milano have parted ways.
Moretti has played only one season with the Italian champions, in 2020-2021 before being loaned to VL Pesaro in 2021-2022.
Moretti will continue his career with VL Pesaro with a new contract.
