Shai Gilgeous-Alexander delivered a masterpiece performance, lifting the Oklahoma City Thunder past the Denver Nuggets 129-126 with a game-winning step-back three with 3.3 seconds left. The reigning MVP finished with 35 points (14-of-21 shooting), nine rebounds and a career-high 15 assists — all without committing a turnover.
He also reached a historic milestone: his 126th straight game with at least 20 points, matching Wilt Chamberlain’s record streak set from 1961 to 1963. According to ESPN Research, it’s an ultra-rare line: since turnovers became official in 1977-78, only LeBron James had recorded 35+ points and 15+ assists with zero turnovers in a game.
Nikola Jokic answered with a 32-point, 14-rebound, 13-assist triple-double, but SGA owned the defining moments, hitting two threes in the final 14 seconds and sealing it after Denver tied the game late. Thunder coach Mark Daigneault praised his star’s “tremendous poise” in crunch time.
