ESPN’s Tim MacMahon believes San Antonio could offer Johnson a new contract after the Sixth Man of the Year enters the final season of his current deal.

Keldon Johnson could re-sign with the San Antonio Spurs. According to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon, there is a “good chance” the forward ends up signing a new deal with the franchise.

Johnson is entering the final year of his contract, worth around $17.5 million, while San Antonio will have to carefully manage its payroll to keep its core together. The Spurs highly value Johnson, particularly because of how well he has embraced his role off the bench.

Last season, he came off the bench in all 82 regular-season games, averaging 13.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 23 minutes per game, earning his first NBA Sixth Man of the Year award.
