Melbourne United have announced the signing of Cole Anthony, a 26-year-old point guard and 367-game NBA veteran. Anthony completes the Australian club’s roster for the Hungry Jack’s NBL27 season.
Anthony joins Melbourne after five seasons with the Orlando Magic and one with the Milwaukee Bucks. Across his NBA career, he has averaged 12 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game, with a career-high 37-point performance against the Philadelphia 76ers. “I’m super excited to begin this journey with Melbourne United,” Anthony said. “This is a great opportunity to continue growing as a player and compete for a championship.”
Head coach Jacob Chance called Anthony’s arrival “a huge moment for our club,” highlighting his pace, strength at the rim, vision, shooting versatility and willingness to defend. Anthony will reunite with Joe Ingles, his teammate in Orlando during the 2023-24 season. “Cole is an elite scorer, elite competitor, and I think he’s going to have a big impact here in the NBL,” Ingles said.
