The Illawarra Hawks have added 25-year-old, 210 cm big man Makur Maker to bolster a frontcourt currently missing Todd Blanchfield and Mason Peatling through injury. As an Australian player, Maker will not occupy an import spot.
Maker previously played in the NBL with the Sydney Kings, winning the 2022 title while averaging 7.7 points and 5.3 rebounds. He later gained experience in the G League, China, the Middle East, Lebanon and Taiwan.
He has also represented South Sudan in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 African Qualifiers, averaging 10.0 points and 4.7 rebounds in three games.
