Markelle Fultz is officially back in the NBA after agreeing to a 10-day contract with the Toronto Raptors. ESPN reported that the former No. 1 overall pick is getting another opportunity after spending time with Raptors 905 in the G League.
This move gives Fultz a fresh chance in what will be his ninth NBA season. The guard is trying to relaunch his career and has evidently done enough during his stint with Toronto’s G League affiliate to earn an immediate opportunity at the NBA level.
There is also clear symbolic value in the move, considering Fultz’s path through massive expectations and difficult setbacks. Toronto are now giving him a short but meaningful window to try to earn a longer stay before the end of the season.
