London Lions withdraws from FIBA Europe Cup because of COVID-19

British side was set to play in Poland this upcoming week.

The London Lions have withdrawn from their FIBA Europe Cup group, which is set to be played this week in Poland and features also Anwil, Fribourg and Dnipro, because of a COVID-19 outbreak within the team.

The British team will play today’s BBL Cup final against Newcastle with only eight available players, but won’t travel to Poland. The withdrawal of London from the FIBA Europe Cup has been confirmed by both Anwil (the host of the group) and FIBA, who has removed London’s games from the schedule.
