JackJumpers Complete Roster With 200-Game NBL Veteran

Tasmania’s NBL24 list of rostered players is complete following the club’s signing of 200-game NBL veteran and former Cairns Taipan Majok Deng.

Deng, 30, started his career with the Adelaide 36ers prior to moving to Far North Queensland ahead of NBL19.

He averaged a career-best 14.2 points on 47.6 per cent shooting in NBL22, but largely came off the bench to average 6.7 points per game in NBL23.

Deng is currently representing the Logan Thunder in NBL1 North and is averaging over 26 points and 11 rebounds per game.

“We are extremely excited to add a player of Majok’s talent for the upcoming season,” JackJumpers co-CEO Jorrick Chivers said.

“He is an exceptional shooter and rebounder who can play multiple positions for us.

“His length and athleticism will add another dimension to our frontcourt … and believe the values and work ethic that will resonate with the people of Tasmania.”

Deng will join the local contingent of Junior Madut, Anthony Drmic, Jack McVeigh, Fabijan Krslovic, Jarred Bairstow, Will Magnay and Clint Steindl on the roster, along with imports Milton Doyle, Jordon Crawford and Marcus Lee.

Walter Brown, Sean Macdonald, Josh Tomasi and Tre Armstrong currently hold development player contracts with the club.
