Italian Minister for Sports bids farewell: “Before being appointed I knew nothing about Sports”

Vincenzo Spadafora has represented Sports issues within the Italian Government since 2019.

The ongoing institutional crisis in Italian Politics has paved the way for a change in government, with Giuseppe Conte expected to being replaced by Mario Draghi as Prime Minister. As a consequence, it is widely expected that Vincenzo Spadafora will not continue in his role as Ministry for Sports, a role he has held since the summer of 2019.

In a long post on Facebook, Spadafora, a Member of Parliament for the Five Star Movement, has bid farewell to the Sports world, admitting he “knew nothing about the sports world before being appointed”. He also added that it has been an “unforgettable journey”.
