Heat Expect Jimmy Butler to Return After Suspension Unless Traded

Butler has been suspended for 7 games

The Miami Heat anticipate Jimmy Butler will return to play after serving his seven-game suspension, provided he hasn’t been traded by that time, Anthony Chiang of The Miami Herald reports.

The organization is not prepared to allow Butler to remain away from the team while still collecting the remaining $48.8 million of his salary.

Miami has been involved in trade discussions concerning Butler with several teams in recent days but has yet to receive an offer worth considering. While the Suns have expressed interest, the Heat are not inclined to take on Bradley Beal due to the no-trade clause in his contract. This would necessitate a third team willing to take on Beal’s $50.2 million salary and would require Beal’s approval for the transaction.
