Galatasaray have reportedly chosen Manuchar Markoishvili as their new head coach following Gianmarco Pozzecco’s departure. According to turkish source, the Georgian coach has reached an agreement with the Turkish club.
Markoishvili, 39, returns to Istanbul, where he also played from 2013 to 2014. Last season, he coached in EuroLeague with Monaco after beginning his coaching career as an assistant with the Georgian national team and later working as a head coach in his home country.
The bench change comes after three straight Galatasaray losses across domestic play and the Basketball Champions League. The club is also reportedly close to signing 24-year-old guard KJ Simpson to strengthen the backcourt.
