Crailsheim officially respond to Javontae Hawkins

German club replies to players’ accusation.

German side Merlins Crailsheim has issued an official letter to reply to the accusations formulated by Javontae Hawkins.

“Dear basketball fans in Germany and around the world,

Too bad. It’s a shame that Javontae Hawkins seeks the public instead of internally clarifying the numerous damage to his vehicle with us and his agent. Damages estimated by the specialist workshop at around € 5,000. Many individual damages that were found when returning and that were not present when the new vehicle was handed over to him before the season.

And it is a pity that he is talking about two monthly salaries, even though a very large advance was paid from his August salary in May.

And it’s a shame that we had to get the impression that the communication between agent and player is not what you actually want.

It is a pity that the club should remain on the unusually high damages of around € 5,000, especially in such difficult times. Damage to the car happen and are human, no question! But maybe one could have met after the agent had given final feedback.

Javontae Hawkins, we got to know you as a great athlete and as an impressive and inspiring person. Thanks for the great time on and off the pitch. This assessment will not change in Crailsheim, you will always have a place on our “Field of Glory”. Your current reaction will not change anything about this, as will the actions of your agent.

Let us clarify the damage to your vehicle internally. And believe us: Nobody is angry or even angry because you are now in Ludwigsburg. On the contrary, we are proud to have had you on our team. You have taken the next step, a big step. And you’ve earned it completely!

We are proud of the development that you and everyone else has made. And we wish you and your team to be in the final again next season. We will try to prevent this on the court. You will always be part of the Merlins family.

Martin Romig, Managing Director HAKRO Merlins Crailsheim ”
