AS Monaco Basket are currently dealing with difficulties on several fronts. Results have not been coming lately, the club has been facing financial issues—although the intervention of the State has provided some relief—and even from a roster standpoint, head coach Vassilis Spanoulis is dealing with a few problems.
Nikola Mirotic is currently sidelined with an injury. According to BeBasket, the Montenegrin forward is dealing with plantar fasciitis and could face a lengthy absence. This type of injury can be treated with rest for a period ranging from six to eight weeks, or with surgery, which would require around four months on the sidelines.
In the frontcourt, Monaco can currently rely only on Daniel Theis and Kevarrius Hayes at center. As a result, Jaron Blossomgame may be forced to spend some minutes at center, while perimeter players such as Alpha Diallo, Juhann Begarin and Terry Tarpey could be shifted to the power forward position.
