Besiktas, Alimpijevic: “We will have better days than this one”

Dusan Alimpijevic, in post game press conference, talks about on the fans’ support during the game against Zalgiris.

“I said this just a moment ago. When you’re down by 20 points and your fans keep singing and supporting you, it’s unacceptable for the team not to fight with everything they have, even if that means throwing themselves headfirst onto the floor, if necessary.

That’s the only way to earn people’s trust: by fighting like this. This will be my fourth season at Besiktas. During this time, we’ve experienced both good days and bad days, but we’ve never given up. We’ve never stopped fighting for Besiktas. Step by step, we’ve built an identity for Besiktas basketball. And it’s precisely through this fighting spirit that we’ve built a relationship of trust with our fans. Anyone who joins this club must understand that Besiktas existed before me and before all of us. We must all be aware of the history we carry on our shoulders. That’s why I want to thank the fans who came here today. I’m very happy to be part of a club with supporters like these. I hope they will continue to come to the arena and support us.

Of course, we will have better days than this one.”
