Cecilia Zandalasini has been crowned a WNBA champion for the second time. The Golden State Valkyries claimed the 2026 title by defeating the Atlanta Dream 68-63 in Game 7 of the Finals, becoming the first expansion team in North American professional sports to win a championship in its second season since 1967.
For the Italian forward, this marks another milestone following her first title in 2017 with the Minnesota Lynx. Zandalasini contributed throughout the season, averaging 8.6 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 37 appearances. In the Finals series, she made a particular impact in Game 3 with 13 points and in Game 5, when she scored 12.
Gabby Williams led Golden State to victory in the decisive game, scoring 30 points in Game 7 and earning Finals MVP honors. It was a historic achievement for the Valkyries and another important chapter in Zandalasini’s career, bringing her WNBA championship tally to two.
