The Portland Trail Blazers have waived Jeremy Sochan, making the 23-year-old forward a free agent just days before the start of the regular season.
Sochan had looked set to carve out a role off the bench in Portland, backing up starting forwards Deni Avdija and Toumani Camara. He averaged 6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 12 minutes per game across four preseason appearances.
The move leaves the Trail Blazers with 14 players on standard contracts, along with three two-way players.
Sochan’s Polish passport could make him an intriguing option for EuroLeague clubs looking to add talent and versatility on both ends of the court.
Despite his age, he already has 4 NBA seasons under his belt, having averaged around 11 points, six rebounds and 2.5 assists per game during his first three years with the San Antonio Spurs.
