Anthony Davis has received medical clearance to play without protective goggles. The Washington Wizards big man had initially been expected to wear them for the rest of his career.
According to Josh Robbins of The Athletic, Davis said a physician told him that protective eyewear is no longer necessary.
In Washington’s final preseason game against New Orleans, Davis finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds in nearly 27 minutes. The 2026-27 season will be his first in the Eastern Conference.
